chicken excrement in my beef...ugh! That's disgusting. Reminds me of another disgusting practice of the beef industry: rendering. This is the practice of feeding beef "cows" with the body parts and internal organs of other animals. I mean, I don't have a problem with eating that stuff myself. I am, after all, a caveman. But I sure as hell don't want my beef cows eating it. No wonder bovines are going mad and the ozone layer is deteriorating.

Well-written article. I've worked in both the legal and medical professions for more than 30 years. I've always told people to interview their providers just as they would anyone else they hire. Don't take one person's words as the end all and be all. Get other opinions and do your own research --- so easy now on the internet. As with everything --- there will be information on both ends of the spectrum. Read it all and then use your brain and formulate questions to ask your medical providers that will illicit more information and allow them to know you are educated on the subject at hand.

And get back to eating more freshly prepared food at home --- get away from the prepackaged/manufactured food. It seldom takes longer to cook something good from scratch than from a mix --- we are often just too lazy to pull together all the ingredients!

Check into your area for farmer's markets and local farmers who sell to the public or farm coops. Get your food fresh and help the farmers by cutting out the middle man. Check out the SloFood Movement.

And grow some of your own food. I know a wonderful place to get Heirloom Tomato seedlings and plan to plant mine in pots this year since I'm in an RV. Lettuce and green beans are easily grown in pots also.

Take responsibility for your health and teach your children how to maintain a healthy diet by incorporating this into your lifestyle.

Good article.

Hello Chad! Animal body parts fed to herbivorous animals may be a problem because herbivores are designed to digest plants/grass, not meat. But watch out, it's also the SICK meat (cows/chickens/pigs with diseases) that are being "rendered" (recycled) in food and cosmetics!

Hi Amanda! These negative effects are seen in teenaged girls when their bodies are supposed to be growing fastest and in "full bloom" so it is easy to see why they are also first to see the side effects of the Gardasil vaccinations.

I can only urge you and your Dad (or anyone else) to re-consider the possibility of any future vaccinations! If you're healthy, you don't need vaccinations! And keep track of your health symptoms etc

Thank you dear friend! Your experience have served you and the community well - thank you for adding very wise advise for food! I agree with you - when you grow your own vege and fruits, you can be pretty sure there's no insecticide or chemicals there to upset the nutrients of your food.

There are many healthy dishes to throw together and that can be made in less than 10 minutes for dinner for example - if only people take a more serious effort in their food. Because safe and natural food is really medicine. Not genetically-modifieds.

THANK YOU AGAIN for your encouraging words of wisdom! I'll be sure to check out Heirloom Tomato seedlings!

Hi KayTiiangegel! The reason why ppl survive from poisons including fluoride ingestion is because their "soldier cells" successfully fought them off. And partially because your children may not have taken them longterm, to be able to feel/see the detrimental effects.

The best you can do for yourself and your family and loved ones, is to stay updated and keep them informed. Stay blessed!

Nice post - It's always good questioning stuff, but there are some issues that considered to be very complex, such as Vaccinations; it's not so simple to say it's not necessary - if people wouldn't vaccinate their kids, then all sort of diseases that we thought have passed us will come back, as it already happened in some part of the world. About the Cervical cancer vaccine - I'm currently against it because I think it's too young, research wise and we still need to learn its affects on girls/young women. Regarding your remark about Autism, I read some where that it's a myth and there is no correlation between vaccines and Autism. I'll try and find that on the net and then post a link.

Thank you Gaya - visit this video to learn about the link between vaccinations and diseases/autism: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrIM2hwrLoc The link you mentioned may be http://www.straitstimes.com/Breaking+News/Tech+and+Science/Story/STIStory_337894.html

During the 1940's and 50's when only some of the population was exposed to only a few vaccines, autism was primarily confined to the upper and upper-middle socioeconomic classes, those who could afford good health care and the cost of vaccination.

Today autism is widespread in all socioeconomic groups.

There is also a question of whether sick cows get rendered into animal vaccinations since they are readily "recycled" in animal feed meant for herbivore farm animals.

I appreciated this article because I have done independent research in all three of those areas.

You mentioned Dr. Mercola in your section on fluoride. He also has written a book called Sweet Deception about the dangers of aspartame and other artificial sweeteners. I usually avoid sugar, but after reading his book when I have to make a choice between sugar and one of the artificial sweeteners, I'll choose sugar every time.

I also don't use fluoride. Your readers might like to do some research into xylitol instead. Many studies have shown that it is very effective in re-mineralizing teeth. I only use toothpaste and mouthwash that contains xylitol. It is also known as a natural sweetener but have found that it causes gas and diarrhea when used as a sub for sugar. But it doesn't have an aftertaste.

I have chosen not to immunize my child. He is in a homeschool co-op where none of the other kids are immunized either.

Your article clearly demonstrates the trend of Americans taking their health into their own hands.
I'm looking forward to the next installment.

I agree with point #1. However, I do think fluoride and vaccinations are a good thing. It's a slippery slope when you start advising parents not to vaccinate their children. Maybe a few of them need to be looked into and researched farther but overall, I think they are necessary.

Hello 'Foreign Quang'!

You just offered me great tips!! I will definitely look into this Xylitol - have heard that it's in children's toothpaste before but have not takena close look at it yet.

THANK YOU also for reminding me abt Dr. Mercola's Sweet Deception - that page was meant to be StumbledUpon!

It's funny I am smiling a lot knowing more Americans are taking their health more seriously. May be more Singaporeans like myself will also take to the trend!

By the way Foreign Quang, I appreciate that you registered here just to comment on my article!
Hello Dashton my friend! I appreciate your honest comment! Here's extra info for discussion:

If health authorities are unsure of something like Fluoride, shouldn't they "hold on to it" till they are more sure it doesn't cause humans (and animals) any harm? But yet 'unknown substances/food' are thrown into water-supply and made into food supplements (fluoride supplement).

At one time in Dec 2008, FDA said that Melamine in milk products are safe! You will see for yourself the other dangerous foods that the corrupt FDA has pushed to the public as 'safe'. (Google for "FDA Stuns Scientists by declaring Mercury in Fish to be Safe for Infants, Expectant Mothers".)

AS FOR VACCINATIONS

Health authorities will want you to believe that if food and exercise is not enough, you will need prescription drugs, chemotherapies, radiation and vaccinations to be healthy.

They will also want you to believe that you have a pretty lousy body that cannot fight bacteria and germs without the help of anti-biotics and vaccination. You might as well be without immunity and that's what "sick food" will do to you.

"...a few of them need to be looked into and researched farther but overall, I think they are necessary."

Have you researched and investigated before you reached such a conclusion? Please feel free to share your findings.

Yours truly,
kelly

Haha,um,i do have to note that the article in the link was posted in June 2006. My dad pointed out to me after I showed him the article and because I was worried sick about what's going to happen to me, my dad assured me that the company has already settled it and for now there aren't more setbacks. Thanks for the tip btw.

I agree with you, the only thing I use instead of artificial sweetener is stevia. It's an all natural plant leaf that also provides fiber. After I read about artificial sweeteners being a neuro-toxin I came to realize that the 6 cans a day of diet coke may have contributed to my diagnosis of MS and the FDA has acknowledged this fact.

Bravo, Bravo, 2 Thumbs Up. I have been ranting and raving about these issues for years. I have been in the medical field for 15 years, work in a hospital now, and advise patients to question their doctors advice every day. No artificial sweeteners (none) for two years and no fluoride in my water or my personal care products. And the accumulating information that is piling up about vaccines make me fear for my grand-kids. And don't forget the one person dying every month since they started Gardasil, I called and warned every one of my kids.

Hi Shari! Although Stevia is a good alternative to refined sugar (sugarcane sugar, fructose, genetically modified or artificial sugars should be avoided), Stevia is bitter in coffee and confectionaries. I've switched to brown sugar but again I am not using a lot of it.

Splenda may not have aspartame but it still has other synthetic ingredients in there: DDT and dioxins (even more potent than DDT). DDT is a popular insecticide used in the 1940s. A one time use probably isn’t going to make a difference, but using it several times a week sure can cause adverse effects.

Duke University completed a study concluding that Splenda reduces the population of beneficial intestinal flora. (A healthy digestive tract is the foundation of good health, and once the digestive system becomes impaired, everything else goes downhill.)

So nothing artificial for us! (Thank you for commenting! Much appreciated!)

There are two movies that cover the dangers of aspartame, “Sweet Misery” and “Sweet Remedy” about Cori Brackett’s debilitating illness after drinking diet soda, and her recovery by detoxing. The films look at how the FDA’s approval process was subverted, and the corporate interests that profit from making people sick. For more information about aspartame, and other food additives, take a look at Cori’s site at http://www.sweetremedy.tv
Thank you for providing a forum for this life-saving information.
I got this from my support group:
It saddens me to inform your readers that Wednesday morning Senator Tim Jennings cast the vote that killed a vital consumer protection measure in Senate Rules Committee. That was Senate Memorial 9 of Gerald Ortiz y Pino which asked the FDA to take this carcinogenic and neurotoxic artificial sweetener off the market, since it is still found in 6000 products, from food to pharmaceuticals.
This chemical (aspartame, artifical sugar) was patented by G.D. Searle, which back in 1966 was investigating peptic ulcer drugs; the story from Searle is that the chemist licked his finger, and discovered that it was 200 times as sweet as sugar, profit lights went off in the chandelier in the corporate board's cerebelum, but the FDA turned them down for approval for 15 years because of concerns over the methyl ester in aspartame becoming methanol then formaldehyde, and causing harm to the consumer. Jennings mentioned in the committee that he had had problems with acid reflux and would vote against the Memorial which he did (as if it still had something to do with peptic ulcer drugs!); I wonder if that was apparently all he had read of the Memorial, the first sentence: but I pointed out as politely as I could muster, that it had been considered as a peptic ulcer drug 46 years ago, but that was kind of like talking with Rip Van Winkel after his 300 year nap....
I really don't know if Tim Jennings is among the diet soda guzzlers still. If he has quit, he did so out of concern for his own health. If he DIDN'T quit consuming aspartame, he certainly is in no real position to be deciding such things for the rest of the state, especially since it was only a Memorial REQUESTING the FDA to taken it off the market, and to vote from a position of such a total lack of accurate medical information is absolutely shocking to me...." - Bryant, http://presidiotex.com/aspartame

Before you make those broad statements about vaccines, look into immunology. In order for a vaccine to work, you have to literally become infected. The "dead" vaccines do not work.

In other words, for a vaccine to actually work, you have to get sick with whatever it is they're protecting you against. It's all based on the inflammatory response.

Further, there is zero scientific evidence that vaccines actually do any good. Polio was already on the fast decline when the vaccine was introduced. Same with smallpox.

It's not hard to find this information if you really want it. Just don't ask your doctor (who's literally banned by the AMA to tell you this) or anyone who sells the vaccines.

As for fluoride, all you have to do is look at what it is. I have no problem with fluoride in toothpaste or at the dentist's office for teeth cleaning, so long as it's labeled. I do have a problem with fluoride that's being ingested. It's a toxin. It builds up in your body. It's listed on the FDA's Class III toxin list right up there with cocaine and mercury. No-brainer there.
