I'm so sorry you were there but 'missed' it. Really.
I didn't know that the Congressional Committee issued an apology. That's the least they can do now.

The whole thing is annoying, you had tickets, you did your way especially...that's too bad. Look at the bright said, you are your friend are ok...I didn't like your tone - "The crowed chanted "Let us in! Let us in!" These chants were ignored. Upset people argued and yelled at the guards who had closed the gate. I feared that this chaotic scene could turn to rioting."

The reality is that I really was witness to history, just not from the location I thought I'd be witnessing it from. It was an honor and great privilege to be there on that day.

I really tried to pull together both the disappointing elements and the good from the day into one post. The reality is that there were thousands of people shut out from where they were supposed to be, but that we were celebrating a major national accomplishment.

It is the least thing, and probably all they can do. I hope that they apply the lessons learned on Tuesday to future inaugurations.

Joel, what a great report. I think it is an honor to simply be there, even though you thought you'd be closer. I'm still so excited about this day. It's an important mile stone not for the American people, but to mankind.

Now a day the hot topic that every one speaks about is “Protect the Environment”. We have a lot of expectation from the change that took place but lets keep our fingers crossed. Hope the change is for the betterment of the mankind.

People have been concerned about the environment for quite some time, even before global warming was a front page issue. The fact is, the more we can turn the ship of carbon emissions around, the better everyone will be. Am investment into green industry and jobs is a step in the right direction. This is something that has been difficult to get funding for, but makes a lot of sense as part of an economic recovery package, such as the one Obama is working to get through congress.
