Affirmation: I shine my light of happiness into the darkness of negativity. - Jonathan Lockwood Huie
As a happy person, you radiate happiness to the world. Visualize your light radiating throughout the world, passing from person to person until the whole earth is uplifted by your happiness. See yourself carrying a candle into a dark cave. The candle illuminates the darkness rather than the darkness snuffing out the candle. |

Happy people tend to be found in the company of other happy people, while unhappy people are likely to spend time with unhappy people. You are probably saying, "Yes, that's right." You may have thought about this relationship before, or you may just now be scanning through a mental list of people you know and finding the correlation. Either way, it is a matter of personal experience that both happy and unhappy people tend to mingle with others having a similar degree of happiness. Why is this true? Are happiness and unhappiness infectious?
Several factors are at work. First, let's say that I am an unhappy and negative person. I depress the emotions of those with whom I come in contact. As a result, happy positive people try to avoid me as much as they can, while unhappy people, plus any previously happy people who are bound to me through family or career, are further depressed by contact with me. I tend to feel uncomfortable around happy people because I'm jealous of their happiness, while I create a misery-loves-company kind of bond with other unhappy people.

Spirituality and FaithBy Jonathan

Our prayers are always answered, but often God, or the Universe, knows what is best for us better than we do. Sometimes we are very sure that we know what we want, and what we want seems very important to us. Later in life, however, often we look back at those desires and wonder why they seemed so important at the time, or question why we wanted them at all. For example, in high school there may have been a boy or girl that we would have given anything to date. If only I could be Johnny's girl friend or Sally's boy friend. Later we look at Johnny's face on a wanted poster or hear about how Sally's life turned out and wonder what we ever could have been thinking.
Consider the distinction between affluence and riches. Affluence is a state of mind. I can perceive affluence regardless of my external circumstances. The Universe responds favorably when I request affluence. I receive the feeling of having everything I need. Sometimes I actually receive earthly riches. Always, I receive a satisfied feeling with whatever the Universe deems is best for me. Whether I receive financial gain or not, I truly receive affluence.

Take Charge of Your Life - 9 Secrets for Getting Un-Stuck - Jonthan Lockwood Huie
From the way most people live, one would never guess that humans are beings of free will. Repetition can be a choice, but often it isn't. The athlete or pianist who practices the same routine day after day, year after year, has their eye on a goal. The unending repetition is a conscious choice in the pursuit of a life dream. But what about the sameness of most lives? Observe the morning commute, the after-work drink, the Sunday football game or religious service - how many of those people are consciously following their dream, training their mind, body, and spirit through that daily repetition? And how many are mindlessly slogging through each day out of habit and boredom?
You can take charge of your own life - today. Here are 9 secrets to get you started:
1. Believe in yourself. |
