“The critical ingredient is getting off your butt and doing something. It's as simple as that. A lot of people have ideas, but there are few who decide to do something about them now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. But today. The true entrepreneur is a doer, not a dreamer.”
Nolan Bushnell
They who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night.
Edgar Allan Poe, "Eleonora"
"Some men see things as they are and say 'why'? Others dream things that never were and say 'why not'?"
~ George Bernard Shaw
I think we dream so we don't have to be apart so long. If we're in each other's dreams, we can play together all night. ~Bill Watterson, Calvin & Hobbes~

Shir HaMaalot: song of the frigid degrees - Part I
by Scott Krane
בס"ד
6.8.09
I fear that the single most influential factor which shapes the minds and ideas of Israel today, is the all too often, violent realities of our country's daily existence. It seems to me that too much of Israeli culture bears a psychological boulder, tied to its very soul. Observable evidence of this is the frequent moral bankruptcy of our citizens and politicians, alike. Certainly the Ben-Leumi media not only reflects the violent truths, but it also keeps her citizens hipped -- and it does so in keeping with good journalism and free press -- on the exponentially growing, global anti-semitism. The fear that our culture indeed bears these chains on its collective psyche, and the greater fear that we are unable to lift them, came to me a few months ago when I heard the latest on the Israeli artist, Dudu Topaz.
