Changes in Prizes Policy

BloggersBase would like to announce a change in its prizes policy.

Starting today the competition blogs will award money prizes only if they are externally sponsored. The Love and Relationship blog is already so sponsored and will continue to award the same prizes as before.

The BloggersBase team has started approaching companies, organizations, websites and individuals to sponsor as many of its blogs as possible. If you as bloggers or readers think about anyone you know who might be interested, please connect us.

The benefits for sponsors are clear:

·         They get premium space for placing their name, logo and link on a blog targeting their domain of interest, full of both bloggers and readers.

·         Creating a user which can get involved with the blog community highly increases interaction and possible cooperation with potential customers.

·         It creates an open channel through which the sponsor can bounce ideas and information and can get true and valuable feedback.

BloggersBase will announce each new sponsorship deal and each blog will have a clear indication whether it is sponsored, the type and amount of prizes etc.

We will work hard to bring in sponsors and raise the level of prizes well beyond what it previously was. We hope not only will the prizes be higher, but they will encompass a much larger amount of the blogs. We know this is an unpleasant step, which is sadly a necessary one at this stage. We hope for your understanding and hope that you'll keep enjoying the other benefits that BloggersBase brings to its users. Together we'll grow BloggersBase far beyond what it is now!

Sorry to be the only person singing against the choir on here (and sorry for reacting to the news so late) but one of the big attractions of bloggersbase personally was the potential cash reward involved.

Though I didn't always finish in the top 2 spots this added incentive certainly pushed me to submit more stories and improve my writing, formatting and tone. It also had me returning to the site frequently to see how I was doing and how my friends were performing

I always imagined this kind of reward was not maintainable (from your perspective that is) and think this change in policy was inevitable. Ultimately other similiar sites require users to submit 100% original stories whereas bloggersbase allowed us to expose the writing from our existing blogs to new users.

Unfortunately i am yet to witness a rise in visitors to my site directly from Bloggersbase and with the lack of added incentive I am going to stop submitting my posts to bloggersbase for a while.

This is in no way a reflection on my feelings for the site, a place where I have met some lovely people and read some amazing stories, however the long effort of entering new stories and editing them to fit the bloggersbase format is not currently advantageous.

I will continue checking the site and wish you all the best but will focus on my main site for the time being

Regards and thanks for a wonderful job

Boaz.

Its bad that I missed this news. I've seen few bloggers not too aggressive anymore to send their article to BB. I'm noticing this on the email I receive. Before this, so many post notification but now?
Yes the prize is not a big matter, I'm keep posting my article on BB. Few article on my blog get index and have better rank on Google SERP are blog I posted here on BB.
But I think the prize will help the blogger and prize always nice if you get one :)

A Good circular for BB writers and readers, hope this will be a good link sponsers too, we are all expecting more sponsers to develop our BB. Money doesn't matters so plz all bloggers keep going to develop our BB in future. I think in future BB plays a good role in www root. very thanks for intimating the change of prize policy.

I agree this is a normal step to take BloggersBase to the next level.

BUT if sponsors are monitored and like myqute said" hopefully the winner isn't the loudest voice supporting the sponsor that wins"

At the end of the day BB will be recieving more revenue, so the Bloggers prizes should be Higher and benefit as well since we the bloggers are who make up BB.

Same questions as MyQute there about sponsorship costs and requirements. I have several friends who might be interested in the Agriculture and Environment sections, but would need more details first.

The prizes are the secondary reason I blog here anyway. So far, I've won a few, but I don't focus on it. My aim to is syndicate my blogging a little more and thus diversify my reader base. You've helped me do that and then some. In fact, some of the posts that come from my blog's RSS (www.aaronsnevironmental.com) and post here get more traffic here than on my own site. Definitely more commentary.

I only wish I could bring the comments from blog posts here back to their original on my WordPress blog at my site. (hint, hint) :)

BloggersBase is the best place for newbie and semi-professional bloggers as of now, and it will be in the future as well.

You don't have to worry about that coz this system is something unique and has that charisma to become The BEST and I (we) can never dream of leaving you whatever...

Also I have expected this sought of update would come sooner or later, so I don't find it that unpleasant and also I feel its a wise decision taken by BloggersBase.

In fact, I am excited coz I have got a chance to become a sponsor and promote our killer startup "ARKTAN".

Hi Dan! I hope that it does not mean that the blogger who talks the most about the sponsor, wins the prize in the category. It could be a "conflict of interest".

I will continue to blog in the Health category because the prize is only a secondary reason why I blog on here.

Btw Dan, what would it take to sponsor categories here? Estimated cost? Can bloggers sponsor other categories that they are not blogging in?

What can sponsors expect (eg. their feeds in side-bar, etc?) How many sponsors per category?

Also, can I request that NO pharmaceutical companies and charities that feed BIG PHARMA sponsor the health category? I hope it's not too much to ask! I see if I can do something although I have a feeling that it's easier to get sponsors for the Politics & Opinions category.

Hey Dan! This certainly makes sense. You guys are doing a great job! Just as a point of clarification - the only "Competition" blog that has a sponsor right now, and therefore will have prizes, is the "Love and Relationships" blog. Is that correct? Just wanted to double check.

Thanks again and keep up the great work!
