Twitter Appreciation: 18 Bulk Unfollowing Tools/Software PLUS How to get your name into a Twitter Film
Some tools here help you to automatically unfollow and some are not autmatic. Feel free to add your comments so it becomes a more informative blog entry. All services/tools are free unless otherwise stated. (And no, this blog entry will not win me a prize but serves as a "back-up" while my personal blog is in "deep sleep"! lol You may also want to open this in another window/tab. )

How to Get your name into a Twitter Film ]
Tweetblocker may not be a mass unfollower but it lets you check if someone is a spammer based on complaints sent (or other statistics they rely on), etc. | 
Tweemaid looks like it's functioning tight to either unfollow everyone or unfollow those who unfollow you, but it is not free. |

Twitterontherun/Twitchsnitch - looks like it's worth checking out except it's not a free service. The mass auto-unfollow tool is under TWEETafter. | 
Autotweeting - you don't need to "manual delete", "manual follow" or "manual anything" (except for setting up the tweets you want to tweet for the next 24 hours to the next few months!) Capable of auto-adding 500 Twitter followers per day (based matching keywords or interests) and up to ten Twitter accounts (not sure why I would want 10 twitter accounts though!) Worth checking out although not a free service.
At one glance, Twitterontherun (left) is more affordable but don't count on this info as online information/prices may have changed by the time you read this (read everything first before you commit to any paid online service!) |

BirdFeeder - "The intelligent Unfollow engine gives you full command over the users you follow." Free download but more features for users who upgrade. Also has a (seperate) great tool for musicians. | 
Tweetmykarma allows you to control your tweets (I have a feeling this program can only be run on non-Macs). Worth checking out. |

Huitter allows you to follow or unfollow everyone except for the list of people you wish to "lock" (no intention to unfollow these people).
Untwitted is a similiar tool. |

Twitoria is not new but it is about first Twitter tool that allows you to unfollow inactive Twitter users (eg. they have not logged into Twitter or tweeted for more than 2 weeks or several months and you want to unfollow them without manually checking their stats). |

theUnfollowed reminds me of some science fiction or supernatural like "The Unborn"! lol Well, this site allows you to bulk unfollow people and also to track who unfollowed you. May have some errors but which beta site does not from time to time. Worth checking out. | 
Twiping - not to be confused with Tweepi, this free dowload (Windows Desktop app) works based on keywords, allowing you to do mass follow/unfollow. Nothing's mentioned about unfollowing but I think they provide the service. It's free (donorware if you like!) |

Untweeps allows you to see who you added to your "block" list and more. Does not seem to have any auto batch or mass unfollower but does clean out people who you view as "stale". | 
Tweepi has functions they name as 'Geeky Cleanup', 'Flush' and 'Reciprocate' (auto follow those who follow you). Sometimes Tweepi is not accessible - if so, try again later. |

By its name alone, you may never have guessed Buzzom.com (also known as TwitIn) is a Twitter tool! You can opt to bulk unfollow people who aren't already following you (proceed with caution - there are many amazing ppl out there who you may wanna follow but who aren't following you). This free service also allows you to bulk-reciprocate 15 people at a time. Teh service would be better if avatars are directly linked to Twitterers' profiles as sometimes the names aren't necessarily a Twitter username. For example, your name may be Belinda but your Twitter name used is CupCakeLove. | 
Tweetspinner purges 50 people at a time (those who are not following you). They are still working on Twitter BG rotation so you can in future, rotate different twitter Backgrounds on your Twitter profile page. If this feature works, I have no doubt it will be in demand by those in design work and people who want visitors to enjoy some visual variation. |
How to get your name into a Twitter Film
There's a contest that is easy to play and may just get you famous (if you don't mind being famous!) The rules of the contests are simple to follow. Here's how you can enter:
1. First, go to
http://twitter.com/HiveMindMovie and follow her
2. Then visit
http://www.hivemindmovie.com/index.php?CP=twitterSign to register as a contestant
3. Whenever you see a tweet from HiveMindMovie, just tweet what she tells you to. Each tweet earns you 1 point
4. As soon as you reach 100 points (or more), your Twitter name will be under the CREDITS for the film that HiveMindMovie is making.
