some of us are closing our eyes to Haiti, as we seem to think it’s all better now. incase you missed the news – IT’S NOT.
If Anything it's Getting Worse. most of the attention is now being refocused and that means the basics needs are still not being met. people are still homeless and even still being pulled alive from the buildings almost a month later.

Friday Nite Twitter was Flattened Again - By Donations and Tweets about the Haiti Crisis. we were so suprised when it happened that it took a minute to register, what was actually happening. wow, can you imagine 1 billion tweets, all at once ? supposedly that's the number that shook the mighty tweety down. seeing that whale being lifted by those lil birds was really something. it's incredible and amazing all at once, the way social networking has impacted our world; and the younger generation. most of our kids don't remember anything before the internet. I remember when I was a grad student working on the aarapnet project; wondering what it would look like one day. when it all began, it was all a mass of numbers. yes not a graphic in sight. windows 3.1 was the first actual mass produced operating system; which tells you a whole lot. today we're giving you two funnies to enjoy. please be good campers and make a donation to the charity of your choice. Haiti still need us, really badly

YELEHaiti's boots on the ground in Haiti; helping the Haitian People By POD313
for the past five days, just like tonight we watched footage of the devastation in Haiti. late thursday afternoon while watching the news we saw a piece from one of the major relief agencies saying that they thought you shouldn't support YELEHaiti. Honestly in light of the circumstances, it was both disheartening and shocking; to hear such a major organization spew negativity on Wyclef's organization. knowing that we have made several donations to YELEHaiti, we wondered why any organization would attempt to dissuade anyone from making a donation to a known organization; with a great track record of charitable activism in this area. for those of you who don't know - Wyclef Jean IS Hatian. Since 2005 Wyclef has tirelessly provided for the people of Cite Soleil and Belvedere, through his charity YELEHAITI. we've featured his work projects and his fundraising event videos here on this blog. it's widely known that Wyclef is more popular with the Hatian people than even their president. So this attack on his charity totally blindsided us. it's almost as though this charity who made this negative statement about Wyclef's foundation, didn't have any dirty laundry. we all remember the massive mis-use of donations following Hurricane Katrina by several leading charities - including the charity who made these disparaging statements. just a fyi to the charitywatch folks - as proof of your stupidity |

I was naïve. I have to admit that before I can accept what follows. I was among those who believed that, while riddled with incompetent fools and a few truly bad apples, our government was essentially operating in an honorable fashion. I was not naïve enough to believe that corruption was not a daily occurrence in Washington but I always shied away from conspiracy theorists and their half baked notions. In simpler terms; I did not see a systemic and far reaching plot to destroy this nation brewing behind every piece of bad legislation. I no longer hold that belief.
I came across the Cloward-Piven doctrine and the pieces fit so well that I could no longer assume that our nation’s current situation was precipitated by simple incompetence and greed. I first heard of the concept while watching a Glenn Beck clip on Fox News. Glenn suggested that his audience research the subject. I did and I was astonished.
Glenn was explaining that the government needed to cut up their credit cards and part of his explanation lead the Cloward-Piven concept. I then researched the subject and located several references on the web.

Is your marriage in crisis? Would you know it if it was? Do you recognize the warning signs? A marriage in crisis can sometimes disguise itself as a normal but slightly boring marriage until it’s too late to change it and save it. You have to pay attention to all the signs of health in your marriage to make sure your partnership is going strong. First, look at how often you have sex. While sex isn’t the whole point of the marriage—it’s much more important than just that—it’s a crucial part of a healthy marriage. Marriage Crisis and Sex LifeA marriage in crisis is usually pretty easy to spot by looking at your sex lives. Do you have sex infrequently? Is it a big, scheduled deal when you do have sex? Have you stopped having sex spontaneously just when you feel like it? Marriage Crisis? When sex becomes a scheduled activity, a marriage can certainly recover. In fact, most marriages go through a phase very much like that when a baby is born. Each child makes it more and more difficult to find the time to spend with our partner over a meal or before leaving for work, let alone finding a spare hour to make love. But a marriage in crisis never breaks out of that pattern. Instead, even when the time is there the partners don’t have spontaneous sex. Usually there’s very little physical affection shown during the day either. People in love and happy to be together tend to hug and kiss different times through the day. |
