The roads in the city are clean and tidy with absolutely no signs of hawkers at the street side, which is a common phenomenon in most of the tourist spots of India, the entire city is divided neatly into 26 sectors and the houses are strictly made in accordance with the rules and regulations of local municipal corporation .The unique feature of the houses lie in their similarity, one cannot recognize a particular house unless he or she has the house number with him. Smoking is prohibited in most of the places and pollution is controlled with iron hands by the authorities, the max speed limit in the city is 60 km/hour and no Michel Shoemarker can race the town under the eyes of local traffic police without escaping a good fine. Chandigarh is well connected by air and has its private airport having both domestic and international flights running to and fro by it. Railway lines love the city and nearly all the trains like to spend some time at its platforms. By road it becomes another key destination for tourist leaving a Himachal tour. |
