What did Dr. Joe Fuhrman discover?

This is continued from part one.   Diabetes sufferers should also get to know Dr. Joe Fuhrman. "A medical doctor, graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Dr. Fuhrman examines all aspects of your individual health needs and determines the ideal balance of nutrients. With his sensible approach to education-based healing, Joel Fuhrman has successfully eliminated drugs and pain medication in thousands of patients."

One of Dr. Fuhrman's patient gave an account of how her Diabetes Type 2 was reversed (you may download this PDF newsletter - which was published in 2002 - here!)

"90%-95% of people with diabetes have Type 2 diabetes.  This condition has been closely linked to obesity and physical inactivity."    Jonny Bowden's blog  and Dr. Joe Fuhrman's free newsletters  have excellent info on weight loss and control..  Besides these, you may also wanna check out

What They Kept From Diabetes Sufferers Part One

What are they hiding from Diabetes Sufferers? A member of the Health Sciences Institute (HSI, not to be mistaken as "Hang Seng Index"!  lol ), who's been on diabetic prescription drugs for 9 years, threw away her insulin syringes. Within a courageous span of 6 weeks, her sugar stabilized.

Her doctor was stunned,"I can't find a trace of diabetes in your blood!"  This 56-year-old woman from Indiana who had full-blown Diabetes Type 2, is now eating like any normal person!

According to HSI's six-week study that produced startling results, every single person in the study experienced a drop in blood sugar. For some, sugar fell as many as 60 points. (HSI researchers were speechless!)  Blood sugar metabolism showed an average of 52% improvement - which means the pancreas worked better.  And perhaps the most amazing thing was that such a diet actually blocked FAT ABSORPTION, lowering systolic blood pressure and cholesterol.

Ride for diabetes

LifestyleHealth, Sports & Fitness

I just received this email from one of my cousins and wanted to pass it along to the world:

Hey everyone, hope all is well. We just wanted to give you all an update on the benefit ride that we are doing. I'm sure most of you knew my father, Dennis. For those of you who don't, he was a wonderful husband and father. On September 12, 2000, he past away of diabetes. Again, for those of you who aren't familiar with diabetes, diabetes is a very debilitating disease. Diabetes is the number one cause of heart disease and blindness in the United States, among many other painful and heart wrenching problems.
So a couple of months ago, Ricky and I decided to do a ride (motorcycle) for diabetes. We've talked to the American Diabetes Association and they are having a walk for diabetes on October 24, 2009, and they want our ride to kick off their walk! We have gotten numerous merchandise donations from local bike shops for our raffle that we are holding for the ride. We are also charging a $10 per bike fee, and we are going to have a 50/50 raffle, and are having food and drinks. I have also gotten my college involved in this ride/walk. ALL OF THE PROCEEDS THAT WE RAISE ARE GOING TO THE AMERICAN DIABETES ASSOCIATION!!!!

ADAM Test

LifestyleHealth, Sports & Fitness

Physicians have often under-diagnosed andropause because symptoms can be vague and can vary among individuals. Some men even find it difficult to admit that there's a problem.

And physicians didn't always consider low testosterone levels as a possible cause. Doctors often concluded that symptoms were related to other medical conditions (e.g., depression, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, etc.) or were simply due to aging, and encouraged their patients to accept 'the inevitable.'

Fortunately, this situation has changed dramatically. Doctors are equipped with efficient screening tools, such as the ADAM test, as well as new diagnostic blood testing methods like the Bio-T test.

And an increased interest in men's aging among medical researchers has focused so much attention on andropause that major efforts are underway to quickly share emerging scientific information with physicians.

ADAM Test

Could it be andropause?

The ADAM test (Androgen Deficiency in Aging Men) is a tool used to screen for symptoms of low testosterone in men over 40.

It's a simple first step toward finding out if your symptoms could be related to andropause. Answer the questions below, print the results, and discuss them with your doctor.

The Stingy "Mean Fart" But Wiser Way to Health Donation Campaigns and Better Health   Transplants:  Organs, Bone Marrow and Skin - Safe?  (Warning:  This blog entry may contain disturbing image/s.  Parental guidance advised for minors.)

Firstly, let me chat a little of how I feel towards certain donations:

1.  Some donations do not guarantee that patients get a suitable match for organs or bone marrow transplants.  [ Donors' T-cells may recognize the recipient as foreign, and start an immune attack on the recipient’s normal tissues and organs.  This disease is known as graft-vs-host disease (GVHD).    CGVHD is also a transplant-related disease with no symptoms in the first few months after transplant.   More info:  Dangers of bone marrow transplant may not be due to "viruses already present in patients' bodies"  ]

2.  Some donations (majority of it) goes into helping already-rich pharmaceutical companies to produce more prescription medicines with side-effects.

WHAT IS DIABETES ?

LifestyleHealth, Sports & Fitness

Diabetes mellitus or simply diabetes is a syndrome (group of diseases) cause due to the disordered metabolism caused due to hereditary or environmental causes leading to the hyperglycemia state (increase in glucose content in the blood).

Glucose content in the body is regulated by several products but mainly by the insulin which is released from the beta cells of the pancreas. When this glucose content is increased in the body it causes severe complications in the body leading to diabetes and this is due to defective production or defective function of insulin in the body.

There are 3 types of diabetes
1. Type 1 diabetes
2. Type 2 diabetes
3. Gestational diabetes

The signs of diabetes are excessive production of urine, resulting in intake of more water, thirst, lethargy, blurred vision and giddiness.
