The Curious Quiet on European Freedom of Speech

A friend who lives in Canada wrote to me asking me if I had heard how the trial of Geert Wilders in the Netherlands was going. She then wrote she had seen nothing in the mainstream Canadian media. Had I seen any media coverage on it in Australia?

She then sent me a link to an article on the trial at frontpagemag.com

Presumably this was where she found out about the trial.

I did a Google test; (sites in Australia, search words 'trial', 'Geert Wilders', in last week), it came up with only 4. The first was an attack site, another was a Yahoo blogger's comment. The third was about a controversial politician, Pauline Hanson, whose platform was to limit immigration of non- European migrants who announced she would move to Britain. The last was a discussion of the French Burqa ban. A whole week of stirring events and controversy surrounding Wilders and not one media article on it in Australia!

Brighton and Hove City Council

is teaming up with Visit Britain to be featured in gay advertising campaign and a website.

As an island nation, Britain has always had a love affair with water, and nowhere is this more evident than in the beautiful city of Brighton. Dubbed ‘Soho by the Sea’ it has been a flamboyant and extravagant destination  ever since the Prince Regent decided to make it his home away from home in 1823 and is today Britain's second largest gay community.

The council's tourism arm says it wants the city to retain its status as the UK's prime lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender (LGBT) destination.

Councillor David Smith said: "Being part of this campaign places us firmly on the international LGBT travel map."

The council says research on the LGBT market in the US shows gay and lesbian travellers are planning more overseas trips in the coming three years.

According to the research, the UK tops the list of potential destinations, with Brighton often seen as part of a two-centre holiday combined with London.

I love EUROPE!

It is SO Romantic with it's old history and breathtaking architecture! Many people think Europe is expensive...and it can be. But it can be fun and inexpensive as well. You just have to plan.

PRAGUE is still on the Czech Crown. They now expect to join the EURO by 2014!  (They keep pushing it off!) Food and drink in ordinary shops and restaurants in Prague is generally cheaper than in Western Europe. Drinks in ordinary pubs is markedly cheaper.

Clothing can be hit and miss. Some cheap things, some more expensive. But overall,   Prague is amazing city at great prices.

Law and SocietyMiddle East

While the rest of the Middle East is starting to form under one banner, Israel is fighting within itself and with it's "allies". This doesn't bode well for the immediate future. Internationally Israel appears to be in the process of being abandoned. Internally it is busy fighting with its own people who wish to make Israel stronger.

In order for Israel to survive and prosper it must acknowledge that most Western states do not have Israel's best interest at heart. Just as the islamists use Israel as a distraction to their own problems, so do Western states. When things go wrong move the focus to the Israel-"palestinian" peace process" and blame Israel for its failings. There are enough ignorant anti-Semites in the world to fall for this bait and switch.

The Despots Love Ignorance

World AffairsPolitics & Opinions

Western civilization and it's allies need to realize they are outnumbered, out-propagandized, and being out-witted by murderous third world and islamic despots. Because of the ingrained "soft" power of the west, the murderous hard power of these other nations is hold a knife to our throats. Tragically we showed them how to use it.

From genocide in Africa, to islamists in SE and SW Asia, to islamists controlling portions of European nations, to the nuclear development in Iran, the West has sat by and watched while idly chatting. Sanctions failed with Iraq and they are failing with Iran. North Korea manipulated an American administration into providing the money it needed to develop it's nuclear capabilities. Europe complains about Israel not doing enough for peace with the "palestinians" while Islamists are usurping and replacing the laws within it's borders.
