Why don’t I follow @aplusk: Ashton Kutcher on Twitter? Why have I decided that I don’t have time for a process that promotes @aplusk: Ashton Kutcher instead of myself? After all, that’s the purpose of being online. Everyone is active online to promote himself. Every profile, every account, every message, every link - all of the information passed from surfer to surfer is designed to promote the person who distributes it, whether directly or indirectly.You can learn from @aplusk: Ashton kutcher, but Don’t Follow Him @aplusk: Ashton Kutcher creates online buzz through Twitter. But it is his trend, not yours. If you decide to follow him to be part of the crowd, in my opinion, you’re making a mistake. Your just wasting time in an unnecessary process that you didn’t create. Are you naïve enough to think that someone will pay attention to you through @aplusk: Ashton Kutcher’s account? Not a chance, unless you are Demi Moore.
Don’t Remain Anonymous. Earn Points by Sharing Why should they pay attention to you? You’ve no doubt asked yourself this very question. Well you’re right. For people to pay attention to you, you have to start something of your own online, To create and generate content. Let’s Say, a blog, an article, a video clip. It has to be something new, a contribution to the online community you are part of.
Mashable.com contributes to the community by disseminating available information. Tweetmeme is an online aggregator. Here you can find all the information you could want, choose the hottest news and distribute it. If you’re among the first to know, there’s a chance someone will notice you. Buzzfeed.com is a distributor of online buzz. If you track this site, you can keep your finger on the pulse of everything trendy on the internet.
viralvideochart.com allows you to view and rate the most popular online viral videos. Billions of videos were out there in cyberspace every day in December 2009. You think you can follow them all? Twitter is beginning to turn into something more than a microblogging service. While you cannot send files through the Twitter web site itself, there are new Twitter-related services and applications which do offer file sharing. Here are some to get you started:
Twittershare: A Mac-centric platform application which allows you to share files up to 10MB is size. There is also a web interface version you can access through their site and a Windows version is suppose to be coming soon.
FileTwit: FileTwit is a web-based service allowing you to send files up to 20MB in size. The FileTwit site itself doesn’t offer much information about its service, and the interface is lacking. Another catch is if you want to download a file sent to through FileTwit, you will have to go a separate site called RapidShare to download it. Still, it is free and it does allow 20MB file transfers.

Rapidshare is one of the world's largest file-hosting sites with millions of files stored on its servers. Rapidshare is a one click hosting provides paid and free services, owned by German and running from Switzerland. The Regional Court of Hamburg has ruled in favor of German collecting society GEMA, which had requested that the court issue an order prohibiting file-hosting service rapidshare.com from making around 5,000 music tracks available on the Internet. The Regional court orders Rapidshare to pay a 34 million dollar fine to GEMA, and to start actively filtering and removing the files it hosts for copyrighted content. Initally the case was brought on by copyright protection association GEMA. The court also mentions the precautions allegedly taken by rapidshare and other file hosting website is not sufficient to prevent copyright issues. "The judgment states that the hosting service itself is now responsible for making sure that none of the music tracks concerned are distributed via its platform in the future. As i mentioned i my prevous post about FileTwt (Dedicated File Sharing Service on Twitter) initially they let users to download from Rapidshare, but today they released FileTwt 2.0 with lot more updated features especially letting users to download directly from their own servers. Thanks to Gurinder Pal Singh for fixing signup problem and letting me know about FileTwt 2.0. [ Read more ] 
Sign in problem is fixed, now you can find the friends list on the left side. You can either share public or private tweet with a short message. The good thing about FileTwt 2.0 is their new file uploader and download link page. As mentioned earlier you don't have to wait for Rapidshare no more, you can download directly from their dedicated servers. All your friends on Twitter will be automatically addedto your FileTwt friend list. Just click on any friend and send private Tweet. |
