Double Good News for American Freedom

World AffairsPolitics & Opinions

This has been one of those rare weeks when two noteworthy and favorable political events happened.

I. Scott Brown (R) defeats Martha Coakley (D) in U. S. Senate race in Massachusetts

This defeat ought to at least force the Democrats to consider the fact that people are mostly opposed to their “health-care reform” plans, and are willing to vote accordingly. Democrats want us to believe this election was not a “referendum on Obama,” but it clearly was. It appears the Democrats’ 60-vote super majority is gone, and if they try to ram some form of the health-care legislation through without another Senate vote, they’ll look desperate and dishonest, and lose even more esteem among the public.

Screw You ACLU!

The ACLU has determined that first amendment rights apply only to non-Christians. The following story delineates the lengths that the ACLU will go to in order to silence free speech; at least where those pesky Christians are involved.

The following story appeared in the Washington Times:

Educators face jail in Florida
By Julia Duin

Students, teachers and local pastors are protesting over a court case involving a northern Florida school principal and an athletic director who are facing criminal charges and up to six months in jail over their offer of a mealtime prayer.

Lakeland man gets 2 years in prison for rap song lyrics

I am becoming a little more than concerned for the First Amendment here lately. Let me state first that I do not like Rap music and second Antavio Johnson appears to be less than a reputable citizen. Having said that I still disagree with the decision to charge Johnson with a crime for his completely offensive musical tirade against police; of which I am one.

Here is an excerpt from the rap song "Kill Me a Cop," written and recorded by Antavio Johnson:

Hi, Grady
I gotta grudge with the judge
Rugers for prosecutors
Calicos for C.O.'s
Bullet holes for P.O.'s

This is reminiscent of Ice T's "Cop Killer". That song also stirred a strong reaction but did not result in anyone being criminally charged, nor should it have. I found the song more amusing than anything, especially considering Ice T spent a majority

A Minor Instance of Abuse?

WAUSAU, Wis. – An American flag flown upside down as a protest in a northern Wisconsin village [Crivitz] was seized by police before a Fourth of July parade and the businessman who flew it — an Iraq war veteran — claims the officers trespassed and stole his property. – from an AP news item by Robert Imrie, July 10, 2009, found on Yahoo! News.

The flag may properly be flown upside down as a distress signal.

The news article states that Mr. Vito Congine, Jr. was flying an American Flag upside down as a protest. Police removed the flag and returned it to him the next day. Congine, according to the article, was protesting because the village board refused to grant him a liquor license although he had spent nearly $200,000 to buy and remodel a building for a restaurant. The flag was removed hours before a Fourth of July parade, the article said.

So what’s the problem?

Idiotic Petition Comments

I recently visited the Ban Islam Petition and discovered two interesting new comments. The petition asks the World Court to outlaw Islam because of its intrinsically evil doctrines & practices.

787.    Morgan Brykein    Care to read the First Amendment?
The petition's author is a  citizen of Canada, not shaded by the First Amendment's umbrella of protection. The Canadian Human Rights Council has the power to persecute him. The amendment's establishment & free exercise clauses  apply to the federal government of the U.S.A., they have no application to the World Court.

786.    Frikka Wow Wow    Freedom of religion, crackers, ever hear of it?

Define The Dollar Or Else

RunToGold.com - How to Buy Gold or silver
Disclaimer:  This article neither constitutes nor should it be relied upon as legal, investment or tax advice.

Almost everyone uses the dollar to calculate, plan and settle transactions in the United States and beyond.  Likewise feet or meters are commonly used to calculate, plan and construct many building and engineering projects.

If units of length were mired in definitional chaos then the buildings and other contraptions humanity builds would be unsound, unstable and prone to chronic failure.  But when it comes to units of monetary calculation the current worldwide state of definitional chaos, a floating illusion currency system, is taken for granted.  Therefore, is it any surprise then that the current worldwide monetary system is unsound and unstable resulting in a chronically failing system?

IRS V. KAHRE

Robert Kahre, a dutiful Atlas, is once again being leeched by immoral tax eaters in United States District Court.  Earlier in 2007 he was harassed because of his use of a particular type of legal tender.  In his construction business Kahre used gold and silver instead of the predominant brand of paper tickets.

The First Amendment is Under Siege

World AffairsPolitics & Opinions

A dangerous attack on the American Bill of Rights has begun to show up on right wing blogs. Some posts go so far as to advocate denying First Amendment protection to the Muslim faith. Others go further and assert, "In America we must start by banning Islam and outlawing Muslim schools and the Quran. Then we must deport or imprison those who teach and/or practice Islam." These attitudes are intolerable.

No one has the right to decide whether another American's belief system is a religion. The words of the First Amendment, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion," precludes our government from discriminating against any religions. What could be a worse discrimination against a specific belief system than to legislate that it doesn't "qualify" as a religion at all.

We have a responsibility to judge individuals by their actions, not by the books they read. For example, when the United States decided to outlaw polygamy, Mormons were simply forbidden to follow the (then current) dictates of their book. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
