Run Linux on PS3

In the last few weeks ModsandHacks have announced the latest progressions in the console hacking scene. With new innovations announced on a weekly basis, the Wii and 360 homebrew and hacks scene looks as if only the skies the limit. This brings me to the PS3. We are still waiting on the rumoured Belzar modchip for PS3? and with no hacks in sight for the ps3, things dont look to good. We here at modsandhacks think we have been missing out on a blessing in disguise. Yes installing Linux on PS3 will allow for you to do many things that a hacked console can do. We explain why you may be missing out.

PS3 linux
When Ps3 was launched it was intended to be fully compatible with Linux, this was a trend that started back in the days of the PS2 in the form of the PS2 Linux kit. The PS3 does not come with Linux preinstalled. Instead it allows you to install certain compatible Linux distros from an install other OS option in its menu. Sony truly intended to support linux and even announced full support at launch. Linux on PS3 can be booted as live CD or when installed from PS3 hard drive.

How to Install Windows 7 Themes

TechnologyGadgets & Mobile

I was sitting in my dorm room watching the latest episode of How I Met Your Mother, which by the way was amazing, when my friend came in and asked if I could help him install a third-party Windows 7 Theme. Now I have never actually done it myself but it seemed easy enough. My friend explained the instructions seemed complicated but here's a dumb downed version that should be easy for the everyday computer to understand.

Step 1

Download Universal Theme Patcher and run the application that matches up with your operating system, either x86 (32 bit) or  x64 (64 bit). To check this go to Computer–>System Properties. Under the System heading will be your system type.

Once you run the correct version, you'll see a screen like this. Now manually patch all three files. A backup of each file will be made so don't worry if something goes wrong, you'll have the original files.

Communication between members of a technical group, or of technical facts and opinions to a general following, is often characterized by complexity and nonordinary wording. Appearance follows audience. Data includes measurements, test results, or electronic records, for instance. Visualizations are helpful for clarity and mnemonics. Reporting organizes terminology and taxonomy, classifications and citations, lists and links, facts and FAQs. Classic publications are refereed or peer-reviewed. There are formal methods of research and authority which may be applied. Web 2.0 offers wikis such Wikipedia for lookup and crowdsourcing. Social networks may review, rate, rank, recommend and indicate related material. Literature search engines can be used to locate historical issues and standards, e.g. Citeseerx, Google Scholar, or Bing. They match keywords and allow pivoting between subjects, authors, and dates. Realtime blogging services such as zemanta actively make associations. Writing a technical summary often results in discovery. It is ethically customary to identify when content becomes speculation or fiction. Publishing gets responses from comments or feeds. Realtime documentation is largely experimental. Since the exponential growth of data outpaces analysis and reporting so that much of it is discarded, it would be useful to have summaries and leading indicators about which data next becomes significant. These may translate between subject or symbol domains or languages.

Rule Seven – Staff are People (too).

World AffairsBusiness & Finance

commitmentIt seems obvious when you think about it.  Of course staff are people.  I’ve been in many businesses where you really wouldn’t think that though.

Not, I mean, in any overtly purposed way – but in all sorts of less realised ways which compounded, take a heavy toll on welfare, commitment, loyalty and morale of those employed in a business to do work.

Examples are everywhere of “power” managers who love little more than to boast about the “team” they put together – or the small business owner constanly trying to get staff to give up their weekends to get the latest “rush” order through.  I’ll say right now – 80% of “rush” orders don’t deserve to be rushed – and result from poor decision making, all the way along the chain.  Deadlines are a different thing altogether – when used properly.

What I’m looking at here are those areas of business where we tend to mirror our own commitment onto our staff – just because you will work until two in the morning producing the latest report, doesn’t mean your staff should.  The truth of it is, that it is a reflection on your poor time management and prioritisation.  The times where we castigate staff for doing something “wrong” – or not doing enough, even having given up time to get a job done – in all probability it is lack of, or unclear, communication being highlighted.
