It's a mid-week Wednesday and as I look at my desk I have quite the collection of Hollywood news tidbits. Little pieces of news I've gathered along the way during the past couple weeks. Stories that are interesting, but stories not long enough for a post dedicated just to them. With that in mind, here's some Hollywood news to clear off my desk which appear in this post. - Mickey Rourke Winner At GQ Men of Year Awards
- Daniel Craig Can't Get Enough Security
- Russell Crowe Challenges Newspaper Writer To Bike Ride

Hollywood Actor News!
Originally posted on Frame by Frame: A Family-Friendly Guide to the Movies Blog Follow me on Twitter! Trying to catch up on some papers that have stacking up on my desk over the past couple weeks. Most days I come across various entertainment news stories that are interesting, but, don't necessarily fill an entire post. Today as I was organizing some papers, I figured it was time to put a couple news stories together into one post. - Brad Pitt Won't Appear In Sherlock Holmes
- Hugh Grant To Quit Acting
No Holmes For Brad Pitt No one really knows how Brad Pitt's name got connected with the new Sherlock Holmes movie set for release later this year. But, Warner Brothers is denying a report that claims the actor planned to shoot a cameo in the film which starts Robert Downey Jr. in the title role. Pitt, who was reportedly going to play Moriarty, the arch nemesis of Sherlock Holmes, had allegedly been wooed by director Guy Ritchie to appear in the flick. Warner Brothers has now released a statement saying the story "is completely inaccurate. Brad Pitt is not joining the cast of Sherlock Holmes and we're extremely pleased with the production of the film. Sherlock Holmes, which also stars Jude Law and Rachel McAdams, is set to hit the big screen on Christmas Day. Hugh Grant Quits Acting |

Sean Penn Plans Family Time

Sean Penn drops out of two movies so he can focus on his family. In a Hollywood world where many think stars have families for accessories, some do make a positive statement when it comes to family. Such is the case with Sean Penn. Instead of going for the big bucks and spending a lot of time away from his family to pursue his career, Penn recently announced he's pulling out of the production of some movies so he can focus on his family. Not only does he want to spend time with family, he's also working hard to reconcile with his wife. Last month the Oscar-winning Milk star withdrew a petition to legally separate from his wife, actress Robin Wright Penn. Penn Says No To Cartel & Stooges Sean Penn has pulled out of the Farrelly brothers' Three Stooges film. He was slated to play Larry, opposite Jim Carrey's Curly and Benicio Del Toro's Moe. In order to focus on his family, Penn has also dropped out of the thriller Cartel. That flick centered around a man who tries to protect his son after his wife is killed by Mexican drug cartels. The Farrelly brothers may decide to either wait until Penn starts his acting career again, or simply recast his part. |

Hollywood News Tidbits
Originally posted on Frame by Frame: A Family-Friendly Guide to the Movies Blog Follow me on Twitter! It's time to clear off my desk of some Hollywood news tidbits I've been gathering over the past couple weeks. As usual, from time to time I gather a number of stories that are worthy of a blog post, but not of a stand by itself post. So, when the papers stack up and it's time to clear the desk, I go through those stories and see what I can group together. Today I have three such stories; - Young "Slumdog" Star Gets New Home
- George Lucas Receives Visionary Award
- Madame Tussauds Opening In Hollywood
Young "Slumdog" Star Gets New Home One of the two young Slumdog Millionaire children who recently lost their home, now has a new place to live! Filmmakers for the movie finished the purchase last week for an apartment for 10 year old Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail, who played a young version of Salim in the movie. Ismail will also assume ownership of the suburban Mumbai apartment at the age of 18, as long as he completes his education. The building was bought via the trust fund set up by the filmmakers on behalf of Ismail and his 9 year old co-star, Rubina Ali. The search of a new home for Ali is still ongoing. According to a spokesperson for the trust fund, the Indian government is also looking for additional homes for both kids, whose homes in teh slums were demolished by authorities last month. Yesterday I wrote a story about Movies We Don't Need To See. Today, lets look at some movies that have promise, as well as a couple remakes in the making, but should be left alone. I'm not sure why Hollywood is releasing all these stories about upcoming movies. Maybe it's because there's really not a lot going on with the big screen these days. Before anyone says there have been some good movies over the past few weeks, reality is new film releases are down this year. But, even though film releases are down, the box office is up. While some might think this odd, it's actually quite normal. When the economy is hurting, many people go to movies as a way to escape what's going on around them for a couple hours. As for plans for future movies, some of what's on the horizon actually have the potential for being pretty good. Kid Movie News Winnie the Pooh Movie
News from the Magic Kingdom says Disney is planning a new hand-drawn animated Winnie the Pooh feature movie for the big screen in the spring of 2011. |

Do We Really Need These Movie Remakes?
Hollywood Gone Mad! Originally posted on Frame by Frame: A Family-Friendly Guide to the Movies Blog Follow me on Twitter! Is there no end in sight of the remakes Hollywood thinks we all want to see? A few weeks ago I wrote that this summer may be remembered as the Summer of Relaunches and Sequels. Then, just when you thought it might be safe to enter the movie theater again for something new and original, news starts coming out of Hollywood about possible remakes! What's on the list? - The A-Team
- Saturday Night Fever
- Full House
Only one is a real movie. The other two fall into the category of small screen shows best left in TVLand reruns! Nothing New Under The Sun 1) Will Liam Neeson Lead "The A-Team"? It's being reported that Liam Neeson is in negotiations to star in a movie version of the 1980's TV series The A-Team. Neeson would play Colonel John "Hannibal" Smith, the character made famous by the late George Peppard. Others being considered for the possible small screen to big screen flick - Bradley Cooper, who's currently starring in The Hangover |

The Twilight franchise machine continues to march forward! The sequel, New Moon, is barely in the can as filming just wrapped up in Italy. But, the casting call has already gone out for the third movie in the popular vampire-flick world. Even though the trailer for New Moon made its debut splash last weekend on the MTV Movie Awards show, the third installment of the Twilight saga is underway. Plans are in place for the release of that movie in the summer of 2010. That's right...casting has now begun for the third Twilight movie entitled Eclipse. Three New Cast Members Needed On the heels of the shooting of New Moon a casting call has gone forth for three new characters in the next installment of the Twilight franchise.
