Greetings.

Jewish date:  28 Shevaṭ 5770 (Parashath Mishpaṭim).

Today’s holiday:  Friday of the Fifth Week of Ordinary Time (Roman Catholicism).

Worthy causes of the day:  “Save Martin Grossman - The Petition Site” and “Keep Children Safe: Train Child Care Workers - The Petition Site”.

Topic 1:  The latest episode of Caprica, “Reins of a Waterfall”.  We get scraps of religious ideas in this episode:
  • A young Tauron skips school and is told to make false claim of a Tauron day of devotion to Mars to excuse his absence.  Capricans for the most part are presumed not to know enough to tell this is a lie.  (His uncle is a criminal who is trying to bring him up “right”.)
  • Sister Clarice tries to get Lacy to accept her as her confessor.  (An apparent borrowing from Roman Catholicism.)
  • A comic mentions “the God of the Underworld” (Hades?), who is inferred to be very unpopular.

Let's just get right into this because I'm sure you've heard enough about it already in the past 24 hours:

Barack Obama wins at life! Awarded Nobel Peace Prize in landslide victory!
Oslo, Norway -- "Obama! Obama! Obama!"

No, it's not a scene from the 2008 American presidential election. This is downtown Oslo and what you're hearing are the throngs of supporters for Barack Obama who gathered today to declare in one clear voice:

"You win at life, Mr. President!"

Since there is no official Nobel "Win at life" award, the committee settled instead for handing the American president the Nobel Peace Prize a mere 9 months months into his term. Despite Iran moving steadily closer to nuclear-ly destroying the only Jewish state in the entire universe and
unemployment rates in the United Statesflying towards 10%

The Arabs are right - there WAS a Nakba in 1948

Every year on Yom Haatzmaut (Israel's independence day), Israelis and Jews celebrate the anniversary of the reestablishment of their ancient state of Israel. Many Palestinians and Israeli Arabs however, commemorate the years since their "Nakba" or Great Catastrophe during which they lost their homeland to the "Jewish/European invaders." Truly the story of the Palestinians is a sad one as ever since the beginning of their history they have been killed by outsiders.

The following as a brief summary of some of the catastrophes that have befallen the Palestinian people since the birth of their national consciousness...

1834: Hundreds of Palestinians are killed and raped, dozens of villages are destroyed and 10,000 deported to Egypt.

1938:

First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak out for me.

From the people who brought you the wildly successful WWII-era appeasement policies...the following is a partial list of the 101 people that have been listed as "unwelcome" in Great Britain by the United Kingdom's Home Office:

Yunis Al Astal - Hamas terrorist and radical preacher who urged his subjects to conquer Rome
Stephen Donald Black - Former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan and founder of StormFront

A Time to Repent: Yom Kippur

Law and SocietyMiddle East

It's been a busy year at ronmossad.com but here we are again as another Yom Kippur is upon us. And again there is much to atone for, much to repent for.

The United Nations must ask forgiveness for being an ineffective, bloated, irrelevant organization that is more concerned with maintaining the status quo and reversing roles between victims and perpetrators.

The mouthpieces for the administration who reside on J Street must apologize for throwing their people and their homeland under the bus. They must beg forgiveness for allowing the rest of the world to use them and the nation they claim to represent as scapegoats. They must repent for the worst sin of all, that of surrender to (and therefore willing embrace of) evil.

Our president much atone for claiming to represent the forces of hope and change, while continuing in the time-honored tradition of blaming Jews for the problems of the world.

I'm not even going to waste my time with the terrorists and the supporters
