I use Akismet and Comment Luv, and I really like these plugins. I also use All in One SEO pack, but the things that you list as happening automatically need to be done manually on mine. I guess I need to check my set-up to see why this is happening.

There are also a few plugins on your list that I'm not using that look well worth adding. Thanks!

Great list, mash! Over on www.aaronsenvironmental.com, I've been using most of these for some time. Some of them, like StatPress and Comment Form 7 produced screwy content when I initially installed them. StatPress works fine since I upgraded to WP 4.8.4 not long ago, but I still can't get Comment Form 7 to work right with the theme I'm using.

Askimet is, as you said, a total time saver and I seem to be getting a lot more comment spam than I used to. I think that and the All in One SEO Pack are the two required plugins for every WP blog.
