In today's world remembering login information is a hectic job since we maintain multiple logins in numerous sites unless they facilitate seamless login. Sites like Yahoo.com and Google.com are frequently accessed by us. But they don't allow seamless login between each other. Hence we have to maintain two different login info separately.
What if we use the same email address and password to login to Google and Yahoo accounts? This tip will explain how you can use your Gmail id (Google account id) to login to your Yahoo mail as well as the entire Yahoo network. Just follow these simple steps:
- Go to the login page of Yahoo mail.
- Login with your Yahoo id and password.
- Once logged in, look for the "Account information link" in the right side of the top navigation bar. Click on the link.
- You will be prompted for your Yahoo password. Enter the password and click on the Sign In button.
- You will now land up in the Account Information page.
- Click on the "Edit/Create Identities" link in the right sidebar.
- In the "Manage your Yahoo! identities" page you should see your Yahoo email address. Now click on the "Add an email address link".
- Enter the Gmail id in the input box and click on save. Also note that instead of Gmail id you may give any email address you own (Hotmail, AOL, another Yahoo email address, etc.) except the Yahoo mail address you have used to sign in.
- Click on the Close button.
- A mail will be sent to verify that you are the actual owner of the Gmail address. Click on the verification link.
- Once your alternative id is verified click on the "Change password" link in the Account Information page. Enter your existing Yahoo password. Then enter your password you maintain for your Google account and click on ‘Save' button.
- Once done click on the ‘Finished' button.
- You should return to your Yahoo mail interface. Sign out of the Yahoo network.
- Now login to Yahoo mail (and Yahoo network) with your Gmail id and password . You should have no problem to log in. To verify that you are actually logged in with your gmail id mouse over you name in the top navigation panel. You will see this:
