More good news is on the way after word came out that Apple obliberated sales forecasts this quarter in this really slow economy. Apple is introducing new product facelifts including the iMac, MacBook, and Mac Mini. Google seems to have inadvertenly started prematurely advertising the new Apple ads and so this is how we came to know this information. Also in the mix is redesigns of the company's Mighty Mouse and Apple Remote, as well as aluminum wireless keyboards. Reports are flowing in that signage has been received recently that cannot be opened until further notice from Apple headquarters. iMac These new iMacs are supposed to be thinner sporting 20″ and 24″ models. The ads on the Dutch and Italian Google claimed they would be priced at 1099 Euros which in USD translates into $1643. New Apple iMac More details on the Apple iMac to follow shortly. MacBook The new Apple MacBook isn't supposed to be changed to much except for redesigned polycarbonate with thinner and sleeker enclosures. Obviously with any product update these products are supposed to be faster. No word on pricing yet. |

In "From Jail to Judaism," Barbara Bensoussan writes an in-depth profile on Jewish convert Louis Ferrante’s "Journey From the Mob to the Mesorah (Tradition)."
According to Ferrante's website, he "served 8 1/2 years in various maximum security prisons after refusing to cooperate against former associates of the Gambino family. During his incarceration, he educated himself, becoming a writer." He also converted to Judaism and wrote a book about his life, "Unlocked: A Journey from Prison to Proust" |

I love Italian food. All kinds of Italian food. Spaghetti & meatballs. Osso buco. Veal Scallopine. Manicotti. And lasagna. I don't put meat in my lasagna. Or in the sauce I use to make lasagna. I've just recently come to realize how alien that seems to many people, but that's how my dear Mom always makes it, so... I usually make a batch of meatballs and cook up some sweet Italian sausage on the side, garlic bread and a green salad to go with. One of my favorite meals!
Lasagna Cheese Filling
2 pounds ricotta 8 ounces mozzarella, cubed (plus additional for topping) 1/3 cup grated parmesan (plus additional for topping - Parmigiana Reggiano is my favorite) 2 eggs, beaten 1 tablespoon chopped parsley 1 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Mix all ingredients. |

My younger sister is a really picky eater, but two of the very few things she loves are pasta and italian sausage, peppers, and onions. Last night she came over for dinner and I couldn't be bothered to run to the store and buy rolls to make sandwiches, so I decided to mix together her two favorites to make a new favorite. Thankfully, she loved it! She actually took the leftovers home with her. Now I have this new recipe for sausage, peppers, and onion pasta. Try it out and let me know what you think. I need test kitchens for this one.

Sausage Peppers & Onions Pasta serves 3
1/2lb sweet or spicy italian sausage (just ground, remove from casing) 1/2 red bell pepper, julienne 1/2 yellow bell pepper, julienne 1 medium shallot, julienne 1 bunch flat leaf parsley, minced tt salt tt black pepper 4T unsalted butter 1/4c pasta water 1/4c dry white wine 1/2lb fettucini or linguini Boil salted water for pasta and cook as usual. |

If you’ve never tried bruschetta, now is the time to do it. Usually eaten as an appetizer, bruschetta can also be eaten as a light main course. My husband and I love eating bruschetta as a main meal with a nice bottle of wine -red or white- either tastes delicious with this simple and fun antipasto.
Last year my husband and I were in Cinque Terra, Italy. Overlooking the ocean, this vine covered bar was the location that my husband proposed to me. But his proposal was not the only memorable thing that day. We also remember the homemade Italian bruschetta that we tried. A couple days later, at our home in Italy, I attempted to make my own bruschetta and this was the result!
There are hundreds of combinations for toppings for bruschetta. Below are the toppings that I like to include, but please feel free to add, substitute, and make any number of alterations to the recipe below! Italian Bruschetta
