The charming Hill station Kodaikanal of India has always arrested me and my concentration by its sylvan beauty and nature's wonder. Whatever be the place or how luxurious be the spot nothing can compete with the power and sduction of nature. From all the places seen so far this place has always locked my attention towards it and i cant stop admiring the place. I would always wish to go to this lovely paradise atleast once in a year with my loved one.

Kutralam Falls
is a group of waterfalls in southern India.The falls are located 160 kilometers from Madurai and 59 kilometers from Tirunelveli at an elevation of about 167 meters on the Western Ghat in Tirunelveli District. Kutralam has nine waterfalls; Peraruvi (Main Falls), Chitra Aruvi, Shenbaghadevi Falls, Then Aruvi (Honey Falls), Aintharuvi (Five Falls), Puli Aruvi (Tiger Falls), Pazhaya Courtrallam (Old Falls), Puthu Aruvi (New Falls), Pazhathotta Aruvi (Fruit Garden Falls). Kutralam has the nickname the Spa of the South India.Kutralam is touted as a health resort. The waters of the falls are believed to have medicinal properties as they run through forests of herbs before their descent. Tourists who visit and bathe in the waters claim that the water has a soothing effect, help the old feel young and the sick heal rapidly. The peak season for visitors is June-September. Numerous rivers such as the Chittar River, the Manimuthar River, the Pachaiyar River and the Tambaraparani River originate here.




It is famous for its waterfalls and has a number of health resorts.

Kumbakonam is one of the oldest towns of South India. It belongs to the district of Thanjavur in Tamilnadu. It has numerous temples and the place is situated between the river "Cauvery" in the north and river "Arasalar" in the south. Kumbakonam is faomus for the festival Mahamaham celebrated once in 12 years i have already posted the rituals of this festival in the post

The Place Madurai being a Temple city it is worth describing the festivals and the stories behind celebrating these festivals. As i already said the people of Madurai are very holistic and believe in the stories of their deities strongly and thus form an important part of cultural heritage. People all around the world gather spiritually to participate in the festive occasions and celebrate with joy. All festivals are colorful and huge number of people spend their precious times to receive the blessings of their God and remember the lord. All festivals of Tamilnadu are celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal sweeping away  the city with tides of spirituality.

    Madurai City's Icon Meenakshi Temple

    Spreading the glory of India and its beauty i have another exquisite place to depict about the Madurai city in India. The Madurai a second largest city of State of Tamilnadu in India, the Thirumalai Nayakar Mahal being an icon of the city it also has another gorgeous and gigantic icon called "Sri Meenakshi Temple" an enormorous etmpe complex. As the city is also popularly known as "The Temple City" and this temple serves as the witness for the name the city gained.

    The city Madurai is an oldest city and was capital of the Pandiyan rulers who ruled the city in the 12th century, the city is located on  the Vaigai River. The temple was actually built bu Kulsekara Pandya but the entire credit as it is splendid till today goes to Nayak who ruled the city from 17th century, The exact time of the temple is still not confirmed and yet the temple is believed to stand from 12th to 18th century.

    The city Madurai situated in the state of Tamilnadu in India is popularly known as the temple city. It is one of the oldest city with the oldest history dating back all the way to the Sangam period of the pre-christian era. It was ruled by the Pandian empire. It is also considered as the second corporation of Tamilnadu as the main capital of the state is Chennai. The city has varied name such as "The Temple City", "Koodal Maanagar" which means Cultural Capital of Tamilnadu, "Malligai Maanagar" which means city of Jasmine and "Thoonga Nagar" which means Sleepless City and finally "Athens of the East" due to its popularity and fame.
