New Orleans native, R&B singer Lloyd released his new single today, August 16th. The single tittled "Lay It Down", was produced by Polow Da Don. On July 25, 2010 Lloyd announced via Twitter his new album entitled King of Hearts due for release February 2011. Most of you might not be familiar with one of my favorite international popstars: Alizée. She’s a French singer that experienced massive success in France and many other countries around the world with her debut single ‘Moi…Lolita’ and album Gourmandises. She was also the protégé of critically-acclaimed French singer/songwriter Mylène Farmer, who produced both of her first albums.
While I absolutely adored Gourmandises, her subsequent albums only had a few tracks that I really enjoyed. She took a bit of a hiatus after her second album, Mes Courants Electriques, got married had a baby, and then put out her last album Psychédélices, the first of which to not be produced by Mylène.
That album was really different in style from the Alizée I knew, and lead single ‘Mademoiselle Juliette’ was really the only one to see moderate success.

the New Jersey Nets are running a new ticket promotion where if you buy one of their specified ticket packages, you will get a reversible Nets player jersey which also contains an opposing superstars' jersey on the reverse side. WORST IDEA EVER. They are basically admitting that their team sucks and offering Nets player jerseys on their own would not increase ticket sales in any way.
Can this team just hurry up and move to Brooklyn already? Shit, you'd be better off giving away the Jay-Z jersey he's holding above. I'd buy that!

The Nets are promoting a 10-game plan that includes tickets to see the Los Angeles Lakers, the Boston Celtics, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Miami Heat, and the Orlando Magic. I genuinely get excited and eagerly await any new release by either of Tim Kasher's bands, after all he is responsible for writing and venting on some of my favourite albums. Over the years I think I have spun Cursive's 'The Ugly Organ' and The Good Life's 'Album Of The Year' billions of times. Obviously it was good news when i found out Cursive would release their 6th studio album titled 'Mama, I'm Swollen' on the 10th of March. To make things even sweeter the good folk at Saddle Creek decided to sellthe digital version for just 1$ on the 1st of March, 2$ on the 2nd, 3$ on the 3rd etc. until the release date. As far as cool marketing ideas go this one rates highly and rewards the fans who buy early. At the time of the competition Saddle Creek's website was obviously slow or unresponsive, I assume due to the sheer amount of requests this deal had attracted. I had managed to get through and listened to the album on that morning. I'm still really impressed with the tracks on display and since it is as good as the band's other recorded output I may well also chip in for the $15 double vinyl version. Buy it on Amazon |
