You’ve heard the words before, right? Having shared with friends and relatives that you have found a close friend or love interest online, everybody advices you to be extra careful. Don’t just be careful as you are “in real life” but be “extra careful” – the internet is dangerous. A recent study has found, though, that people behave in very much the same way online as they do in the outside world.
For example, take a very active and adventurous person – let’s say it’s a man just to make it easier. He is likely to brag about his activities; maybe he climbs mountains or something like that – he’s likely to post lots of pics of himself climbing mountains then. He’s likely to downplay past relationships, perhaps not even mention them – because being an adventurous person, he’s probably had what the regular person considers a few partners too many. It doesn’t look good. Another example is the shy person – he or she is also likely to add on a little half-truths |

With the launch date of "Global Agenda" upon us, its time to give you a brief overview of what "Global Agenda" is all about. I've been in the preview for the past few months, and I also took part in AvA, in one of the largest alliances in the beta. In short, I experienced everything "Global Agenda" has to offer with the expectation of vehicles (they weren't in the pre-order beta).
So what is "Global Agenda"? It's HiRez Studios' attempt to mix traits found in MMORPGs like "World of Warcraft," with the first person team games like "Team Fortress 2″ with jet packs thrown in. You essentially have four "agency" classes: Recon, Medic, Assault, and Robotics. Like a typical RPG, your agent will gain new skill points to use on the skill tree and unlock new equipment for them to abuse on the field. |

Where do you go when you are looking for love?
Are you considering joining an online dating site but not sure itâ??s for you?
Let me tell you how I first discovered online dating and why I firmly believe it fits in with our modern day lifestyles. A couple of years ago online dating still had a stigma attached to it. Although people were using the internet as a method of dating, they did not discuss it with friends or colleagues for fear of coming across desperate. I recall a friend of mine who was initially embarrassed to tell me she had joined an online dating site. At the time, I was rather surprised as she was an attractive girl who would be considered quite a catch. However, after chatting to her I completely understood why she had resorted to this method of dating; she was simply tired of meeting timewasters who were not interested in committing to a relationship. |

Equating a successful social media presence to a well-planned cocktail party is a common comparison When plotting a strategy to grow a following or increase traffic to a Fan Page, consider a variety of techniques based around the cocktail party model. One of those tactics is a drawing or door-prize event.
The conversation on how to develop an online contest has come often enough and over the holiday break, I took the time to use my favorite ideation tool to develop a model.
There are two legs to this model – one is low 'hard cost' and just requires a good deal of manual labor to implement, monitor and manage. The second leg assumes most all of what is in the first, but allows for a more robust implementation assuming a funded budget for custom programming and monitoring tools.
What would be the results of this kind of a campaign? - Increased awareness of the brand / message
- Increased followers / fans
- Some combination of the two
How would you determine the ROI of the effort? |
