2.  Events are all around you waiting to be told
3.  Write from your point of view
4.  Share with others, don’t think it’s boring
5.  Making-up isn’t the way
6.  Every day isn’t Christmas so write about ordinary things
7.  Be descriptive but don’t exaggerate
8.  Accuracy is obligation
9.  Correct grammar is requirement
10.Keep your notebook close to you, never know when something interesting is going to happen.

As a local political blogger and activist, I have found that 80% of my work is done by just getting out there and attending meetings, events, talking with campaign staff, candidates, and elected officials. All of this happens by just walking through the door to an event. The other 20% comes easier once that first crucial step is taken.
