How I got interested in citizen journalism

I like news. Any kind of news, political, science, tech, economic or fun. And I like true and real news most of all. So I was always angry when I read or hear some news from one media and then the same news totally different on other media. So different that I could barely recognize. That is why I started to follow and learn about citizen journalism.
Because often you can learn more and hear truth from some neighbor who accidentally was at the scene or has some relative who is close to that politician… Sometimes even you can find out more from an old lady who keeps track who does what and goes where, they know everything, than from “reporters” of that and that channel.
Only the truth stuck me with citizen journalism and now I’m trying to pass my enthusiasm further.

Citizen journalism, especially that of blogging, has had and continues to have a significant impact on what information is available to the public. From political campaigns to natural disasters, information can be reported directly to the Internet for all to see. Of course, this poses some risks, as there isn't an editorial process in place to ensure that the truth is actually being reported. Opinion and half truths can sneak into citizen reports very easily, and there is no easy way to verify what is accurate and what isn't.
