Can you tell me what's so Merry about Christmas when our nation has pulled away from celebrating the true meaning of this religious holiday?
Each year my family celebrated Christmas and during my childhood, I was always thrilled when I received a new toy on December 25th from my parents. But, when I grew into adulthood, my mother abandoned exchanging gifts to celebrate Christmas. My siblings and I felt torn by her decision and it made us feel sad. But every year, my mother repeatedly told us that she did not want to celebrate a Santa Claus Christmas.
On Christmas day, my mother stayed at home and celebrated the holiday by reading the holy bible during most of the day. It has taken me several years after she passed away, to understand why she appeared so distant towards us on this day.
I am ashamed of our nation for keeping up this farse that their minds have slipped away. We are engaged in a war with communists to keep this country free from their enslavement. But, no one appears to care because when our citizens trout off to their cushy offices each day, their attitudes are greed and hatred is "in-style" and the "anti-Christ" is what's happening.
Our nation's crime rate is out-of-control, not to mention, jail cells are bursting at the seams, but again no one appears to care. When you question their actions, all you'll hear is "I have bills to pay and turn me onto some BIG MONEY."
For those of us that still believe in Christianity are being overlooked and squeezed out for opening up our hearts to Israel and the Jews. No one seems interested in staying by their side anymore or coming to their aid. Everyone seems to have forgotten that Christianity helped pull us out of a barbaric world.
I pray that this communist war ends soon and I will continue to believe in the power of God and Jesus.
So this year, instead of saying "Merry ChristmasTo You All," -- all I want for Christmas is our citizens of this nation to get up off your lazy behinds and make this a better country to live in."
