This is from an e-mail circulating around the Internet which someone in my family received: HB 1388 PASSED !!
You just spent $20,000,000 to move members/supporters of Hamas, a terrorist organization, to the United States ; They get housing, food, the whole enchilada.

Obama's Words Are Only Words: The Standard Bearer For Change Is Really Just Another Politician After AllSpeaking Out Of Both Sides Of His Mouth
Be careful what you wish for or who you believe in. President Obama was treated as the messiah during the campaign, embraced by those on the left blindly as the non-Bush alternative. His past was ignored. His questionable and sketchy acquantances and friends glossed over as being a product of the "right-wing propaganda machine". His incredibly light resume was not even a factor in the liberal decision making process.
No, what drew left America in was this charasmatic man, the first black man with a viable chance to take over the most powerful position in the world. His promises on the campaign trail were large, his speech flowery and flawlessly delivered. For the left and far left, the now President Obama was a political dream come true. But things are not always as they seem, and this supposed icon of liberal ideals has apparently succumbed to what was always apparent. He is all about political expediency.

Anti-immigrant hatred spreads on talk radio, Web sites
The article, quoted here in bold type began this way: “No contact anywhere with an illegal alien!” conservative talk show host Michael Savage advised his U.S. listeners this week on how to avoid the swine flu. “And that starts in the restaurants" where he said, you “don’t know if they wipe their behinds with their hands!”
And Thursday, Boston talk radio host Jay Severin was suspended after calling Mexican immigrants "criminalians" during a discussion of swine flu and saying that emergency rooms had become "essentially condos for Mexicans."

So were the “Tea Parties” a success? I suppose that depends on two things 1. Which side of the fence you currently reside on and 2. What you believe the ultimate goals of the protests were. In this MSNBC http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30227452/ article it is not hard to answer the first point just read the opening paragraph:
Whipped up by conservative commentators and bloggers, tens of thousands of protesters staged "tea parties" across the nation Wednesday to tap into the collective angst fueled by a bad economy, while President Barack Obama vowed "a simpler tax code that rewards work and the pursuit of the American dream."
Whipped up by conservative commentators and bloggers? This fails to take into account that most of these protests were fomented locally and without any national organizing body per se. These parties are the embodiment of the overwhelming frustration felt by the “working man. They are not an organized “party” effort in the sense that the movement takes aim at both major national parties. |

A dangerous attack on the American Bill of Rights has begun to show up on right wing blogs. Some posts go so far as to advocate denying First Amendment protection to the Muslim faith. Others go further and assert, "In America we must start by banning Islam and outlawing Muslim schools and the Quran. Then we must deport or imprison those who teach and/or practice Islam." These attitudes are intolerable.
No one has the right to decide whether another American's belief system is a religion. The words of the First Amendment, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion," precludes our government from discriminating against any religions. What could be a worse discrimination against a specific belief system than to legislate that it doesn't "qualify" as a religion at all.
We have a responsibility to judge individuals by their actions, not by the books they read. For example, when the United States decided to outlaw polygamy, Mormons were simply forbidden to follow the (then current) dictates of their book. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints |
