Secret shopping is not wondering what where all your money went when the wife visited the store. It is a much more involved scam than that. Though if that mystery can be solved let me know.
This is one of those tricky scams because it is grounded in reality. There really are market research companies that do indeed hire consultants to shop stores and evaluate a store. The thing to remember is that these consultants are trained professional retail marketers. This is not a job that just anybody can do. These real marketing experts must provide reports and suggestion for improvements to signage, store layout, customer service, products offered, and a whole range of other retail aspects that the normal shopper should never even notice. Sometimes they do offers a small promotional incentive to regular folk to visit a store and fill out a survey. By small promotional incentive I mean somewhere in the less than $50 range. Mostly in the less than $10 range. Which is about enough to buy the gas. |

I am still finding more and more work at home scams.
Some are even "Certified" by scam-X and bear the "SCam-x" trustmark. Who is Scam-X? Glad you asked. In case you are wondering it is not me. I know the name is damn close. Maybe when this site gets big enough i'll buy the name scam-x.com and shut it down. but for now I can only do a little research.
So who are they and what do they do? They provide a verification service for web business owners to show that they are in fact trustworthy. Fine. But what do they verify?
This is an excerpt from there web page:
What does it take to display the SCAM-X Seal?
Identity verified.

Those phishing scams have been wreaking havoc on almost every social networking site and Facebook has topped the list. This is definitely due to the massive 350 Million population and the countless apps out there that users find appealing, which makes it easier for scammers to through the right bait and phish them. And these scammers follow trends, very intelligently and today we have an alert on Koobface; the Christmas killer. The current trend are the applications for Christmas and no time has been wasted to send those worms via greetings for Christmas. It comes embedded in a link, once you hit it, users are directed to a fake embedded video player and while that video goes ahead, the worm digs into your system and its called Koobface.GK. Once it has been installed, users see a threat of a system shutdown in three minutes, which of course doesn’t happen all by itself, but you can’t do much about the system since it hangs up. Now if you do enter the captcha, a new domain is registered by Koobface which ensures that the worm continues to spread even further and deeper. |

One of the little known car dealer scams is what the car dealers call “Take them out of the market” or “Stop them from shopping”. The way that this scam works is that when you come in and want to buy a car, but the dealer does not have the specific color or options that you want in stock, they tell you they will get you one. Your local car dealer may do what is commonly called a “dealer trade” or “a locate”, that means they will trade another dealer for the car you want. They will work out the price, terms, financing, payment, trade-in allowance, payoff and all the details in advance of you getting your new car. Then they will take a deposit from you and send you home with a promise to call you when they get the car, which may be a couple days to a week or two depending on the car that you agreed on. This is not one of the car dealer scams, this happens very often in the car business. Most reputable dealers take your deposit and get the car in a timely manor. Take Them Out of the Market – Car Dealer ScamsOf all the car dealer scams, this scam does not actually take money out of your pocket. The point here is to take the customer out of the market or stop them from shopping. It is just like it sounds. The idea here is that the car buyer has left a deposit and they will not go to other dealers to find their preferred car and buy somewhere else. Switch Cars – Car Dealer Scams |

Buying a car today without being taken by car dealer scams is easier than it ever was in the past. The amount of information that is available without charge is amazing and can protect you from most car dealer scams. You may have to spend some time on the internet, but that is time well spent when you consider that it can save you thousands of dollars when purchasing a new car. Not that every car dealer is unethical and deceptive, but a new car buyer that purchases a car without doing some research will usually pay hundreds or thousands more than the informed consumer. Car Dealer Scams You Should Know:Financing Car Dealer Scam:This car dealer scam usually works best when a car buyer has less than great credit. Not bad credit, but credit that has some blemishes and does not qualify for the best interest rate on their car loan. Once the car buyer selects the car that they want to purchase, the car dealer will work out some inflated payments based on their credit score. These payments will often be anywhere from 20 to 40% higher than the interest rate for which they qualify. Protect Yourself from Car Dealer Scams When the buyer asks about the rate they are told that it is because of their credit score. The buyer knows that their credit is not great and they accept the higher payments and buy the car. Some people will go back and forth with the salesman and possibly negotiate a lower payment, but still accept a higher payment |

Learning the risks of leasing a car and car dealer scams are important even if you don’t have any intention of leasing a car. That’s because when you know the risks and the rewards of leasing a car, then you can logically evaluate the pros and cons. By doing so you can can determine if leasing a car is right for you and your situation. It is true there are risks involved in leasing a vehicle, beside the car dealer scams. But the truth is there are risks involved in buying a car, too. The trick is knowing the risks and how to manage the risks. Probably one of the biggest dangers, when leasing an automobile, is going over the allowed mileage. When you are leasing a vehicle, the company makes money by essentially charging you for the depreciation. This means that to make the most money, they need to get the car back in good condition, because they need to be able to sell it to someone after you’re done leasing it. For just that reason all leases have clauses that limit the amount of miles you can put on them. If you go over this limit, you’re going to have to pay, typically quite a lot, I have seen some charge up to a $.25 or more per mile. This can get very expensive, so if you have a daily commute that will put you anywhere close to the limit you should consider a lease with a higher mileage allowance. This is a potential for a car dealer scam |
