13 Things Asthma Sufferers Should Do or at Least Know!
There is this thing about high or low humidity that's good or bad for asthma.  In a nutshell, if your environment is DRY, then the chances of having viruses around that could trigger asthma is lower.  But that is NOT the important thing you need to know because WE NEED BACTERIA to help strengthen our immunity.  Look at it this way: if you have never had cold, would it be possible to have natural immunity against cold?

And the only antibiotic a human body ever really needs is those made by the body itself; prescription antibiotics kill not only the bad virus but also the good bacteria that we need.  We need about 400 kinds of good bacteria in our guts, otherwise:-
1.  Your digestive system is incapable of ABSORBING nutrients no matter what sort of healthy food you eat,
2.  Your immunity system is compromised and
3.  You are more susceptible to cancer of stomach/intestines or any other organs due to reason #1.

Dr. Al-Bayati, discovered that the steroid treatments, Prednisone and Azathioprine, is capable of COMPLETELY destroying the immune system; they are the culprits that were not allowing bodily systems to repair themselves. "In essence my HMO gave me the appearance of medication induced "Aids." Larry J. Boyd, Suisun City, California

Thirteen THINGS asthma-sufferers should do or at least look into

  1. Instead of relying on antibiotics, you need probiotics that encourage growth of good bacteria in your guts.

  2. Vitamins E and D (15 to 25 minutes of exposure to daily sunlight) and Omega 3 oils are beneficial for asthma sufferers.   Cod liver oil can be a good source of Omega 3 oils.

  3. Steaming your face (heat killing bad bacteria in nose) can actually be beneficial to asthma-sufferer.  Some of my friends who have tried this age-old remedy (they said their mothers recommended them), swear they have lesser asthma attack, and lesser pimple outbreaks!  You may wish to check out this face steamer here (there's no need to add anything else into the water meant for steaming).
  4. Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a popular new asthma treatment (no drugs required) that you may wish to look into.  Mark (one of my respected Bloggersbase friend) has blogged about EFT so check it out and look closely by a comment by Dr. Julie Roberts!

  5. Chlorinated swimming pools also can jump-start asthma.  In this sense, the sea seems a healthier option.
  6. Daily 10 to 25 minutes of sun exposure during pregnancy (for naturla production of vitamin D) reduces development of asthma in newborns.

  7. Have as natural a childbirth as possible.  Childbirth interventions like the drugs to induce birth or even Caesarian, increase risks of babies born with asthma. - Journal of Asthma 2000
  8. Breast-fed babies are less likely to have asthma and other obesity-related diseases.  - Bmjjournals.com
  9. Check your gas appliance from time to time.  Gas, even in small amounts, can be a killer for asthma-sufferers.
  10. If you have asthmatic people at home, instead of vacuuming your house, use a wet mop instead.  Flying dust from vacuum bags can be a problem for some asthmatics.
  11. Ask a cleaning professional on ways to get rid of fungi, dog fur or anything else that may trigger asthma.  Ask about air-purifiers that can help asthmatic sufferers.
  12. Do not be afraid to eat spicy food from time to time.  Spicy food induce natural  "mucus moving" (mucokinetic) activity, and thins out viscous mucus that would otherwise pug up the small airways.  Spicy foods like pickled horseradish (a little of it in place of say, mayonnaise) can help.
  13. Although not recommended by holistic doctors, you may want to read more on what "bronchial thermaplasty"  really is (a non-drug way to treat asthma).
