This blog entry aims to show you how to do the following without spending a dime on extra reading materials (I hope diabetic sufferers will benefit from this blog entry!):
Reduce high blood sugar by up to HALF! (See Tip
#2 below)
Regulate insulin!
Boost your immunity!
Support healthy weight loss!

Not too long ago, shocking new findings reveal that the medical establishment's standard therapy of intensive blood sugar control has been a colossal failure.

In 2 major clinical studies of more than 21,000 patients with blood sugar problems, aggressive blood sugar control using the standard insulin therapy resulted in ZERO reduction of risk from serious heart problems, and a 22%  INCREASE in death!

"Results of the Veterans Affairs Diabetes Trial (VADT), a long-term study of US veterans with type 2 diabetes receiving intensive blood glucose control, is now published online December 17, 2008, in the New England Journal of Medicine.

First presented at the American Diabetes Association (ADA) 2008 Scientific Sessions in San Francisco, CA, and reported by heartwire at that time, the VADT showed that intensive blood glucose lowering in patients with elevated glycated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) levels despite medical treatment had no significant effect on the rates of cardiovascular events, death, or microvascular complications."

The results of the study are in line with the Action to Control Cardiovascular Risk in Diabetes (ACCORD) and Action in Diabetes and Vascular Disease (ADVANCE) studies.

Dr William Duckworth (Phoenix Veterans Affairs Health Care Center, AZ) told Heartwire,"As the results show, though, we weren't able to do any good."

Outrageous results?

Why then would anyone insist insulin is the only way of treatment for diabetic sufferers, if it isn't working?   Why would anyone say Type 1 Diabetes sufferers do not suffer any pain, if they were to later go blind or suffer massive heart attacks?  Surely there would be other physical discomforts before blindness or heart problems surface, wouldn't it?

What's the problem with Insulin Treatments?

Those who have been on insulin injections for a long time may find that insulin is not doing its job. They become resistant to all the insulin; cells in the body do not accept insulin (insulin's needed to remove excess sugar from the bloodstream). So diabetic sufferers not only end up with high levels of blood sugar in their bodies, but also unprocessed insulin. This puts diabetic sufferers on a fast track to heart failure.

What can Diabetes Sufferers do?

1. Dr. Matthew Watt's study revealed that people with excess fat are more likely to develop insulin resistance. The obvious thing is to have an optimal weight! Start by eating right and having adequate exercise. [ Related: Free Calorie-Counting Software (Weight-loss) ]

2. "Hundreds of clinical trials demonstrate that diabetes can not only be prevented but actually reversed - not with drugs but with simple, inexpensive lifestyle measure," said Dr Julian Whitaker of Duke University Medical School. Diabetic patients can reduce high blood sugar by half by reducing meat intake by half! (Yeah, I can hear many people say WHY DID I NOT THINK OF THAT?)

You can also find Dr. Julian Whitaker's book on Amazon.com: Reduce or Even Eliminate Your Dependence on Insulin or Oral Drugs (Paperback)

3. Organic pumpkin seeds, a rich source of zinc, can greatly improve immunity of normal healthy people as well as diabetic sufferers. Organic ginseng and vitamin C also helps.

4. Doctors at Brigham and Women 's Hospital studied more than 4,300 admissions and found that many diabetes patients suffered hypoglycemic episodes. This increases length of hospital stays. For each day that a diabetic 's blood sugar was too low, the risk of dying in the hospital increased by 85%, and lengthened one 's stay by two days.

According to a study from the University of Georgia, cloves, banana leaves and cinammon (cooked in foods) may mitigate some of those risks. (Always try to use organic foods!)

5. Women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (a condition that can increase insulin tolerance and cause blood sugar issues). These women can turn to exercise and accupuncture that the University of Gothenburg in Sweden says are effective alternative treatments.

6. Natural (not synthetic) vitamins also reduces circulatory damage for those who are having difficulty in lowering blood sugar.

7. In 1996, the American Diabetes Association (ADA) stated that "chromium supplements had no known effects on those without chromium deficiency". This is a great object lesson why you should be careful about swallowing whole - any statement that comes from an "official" health organization.

"This statement by the ADA was not the first time (and certainly won't be the last) that an established health organization was completely off the mark." said Dr. Jonny Bowden. (Anyone remembers the first edition of the food pyramid? Do you know that the food pyramid recommends 3 fish that the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) warns are hugh in mercury? (Google for the article by Michael Hawthorne, Chicago Tribune) That food pyramid is actually a copy of Sweden's, and Sweden has a higher level of obesity and heart failures!) The current food pyramid isn't that much different from the previous Food Pyramid at Singapore's Health Promotion Board's website (it's just the guy walking up the stairs)!

One year after ADA made that statement, a study found that "significant sustained reductions in diabetic symptoms were especially noted in those who received 1,000 mcg of chromium per day".

According to Dr. Harry Preussof Georgetown University Medical Center, chromium activates the enzyme tyrosine kinase, which helps insulin to bind to cells (insulin receptors). Like a key to a padlock.

There's not a lot of chromium in foods except for liver and beer (drinking beer is definitely a poor way to get your chromium!) For vegetarians, it makes sense to take chromium supplements.

8. Type 2 diabetic patients may be losing weught from muscles instead of fat. When Dr. Preuss and his team applied a natural substance, Garcinia Cambogia, to scientific scrutiny, they could not believe their "luck". Using double blind placebo test methods (state-of-the-art scientific measurement procedures), Dr. Preuss was able to confirm the claims of Asian bush people. He could scientifically verify that it does suppress appetites. (More info on Garcinia Cambogia - I am not affiliated to the site nor do I make any money should you buy from the site.) The Georgetown University study has also validated the benefits of this natural folk medicine! [ Click here to find out if you may be buying FAKE Garcinia Cambogia (under information for fake Hoodia) ]

9. Diabetes sufferers need a diet like the low-carb Rosedale diet. Dr. Mercola talks about the Rosedale diet and also mentions that "Insulin and sugar can age you."

Lastly I would like to say something that is not in direct relation to health but I still find it necessary to say so. People need to be more aware of some "charitable organizations" who raise funds for the sick (those with diabetes or cancer or other ailments). I am not against donations that help diabetic patients go for their dialysis; it's just that a large portion of such donations are often used to fuel cruel unnecessary medical and military experiments on animals - all in order to "advance prescription drugs". (You may wanna read what prescription antibiotics really do to you here. How many more brands or variants of painkillers does a human need? How many more experiments are needed to ceate more needless painkillers? I laugh when I see that research has went into attempts at producing artificial sperm! Are those how your donations are used?)

I believe that whole natural and untainted foods, and/or alternative therapies, can do everything prescription medicine can do but without its side-effects. I'll touch on this more in the next few blog entries so check back next week!

Wow, great info there. Here's my tip: buy a scythe and spend a couple of hours a week chopping weeds with it. Just don't expect to be able to do anything else after you're done. I can't feel my upper body and am only typing by muscle memory right now. :)
