Hello everybody , today I'm going to write a little bit about how you can exercise when you suffer from asthma .

Asthma is a disease of the lungs that can make it very difficult for you to breathe and because your airway gets easily irritated , it can be quite a challenge for you to exercise.

There are little things you can do to make it easier , though .

First of all you can do what is called nose breathing . Sit very still with a straight back and breathe in , counting your inhale and then making your exhale last the same amount of time . You need to both inhale and exhale through your nose . This will expand your airways and in case of an asthma attack , having done breathing exercises might help lessen the severity of the attack .

You can also try lying on your back and making your exhale last longer than your inhale . A good time interval is up to 4 seconds for an inhale and up to 6 seconds for an exhale. This way your breath is going to deepen gradually .

These exercises will help you get better control of your breathing , teach you to breathe more fully and improve your circulation .

I'm going to mention a few other tips for exercising when you suffer from asthma .

First of all , try to stay away from smoke or anything else that might trigger your asthma attack during exercise . Also , be sure to warm up very slowly and cool down after your exercise . Always keep your inhaler close by . A small tip for warming up the air you breathe is to wear a small, thin scarf around your head, covering your mouth. This will make the air warmer :-)  And you might look cool!

If you feel an asthma attack is under way during exercise , stop immediately , take your medication and sit up straight for a while . If the symptoms don't go away , call a doctor .

Don't ever make any changes in your asthma medication without consulting your doctor first.

By the way, did you know that some of the world's greatest athletes suffer from asthma? That's a nice thought to end this article on.

Actually asthma is a dangerous disease, especially for kids. There is an opinion that asthma is the next step of unhealed allergy. I think we should pay more attention to any signs of allergy to prevent the spread of this disease. And exercises will be useful without doubt.

Exercise do help! Along with some 10 to 25 minutes of daily sunshine. But I feel the inhaler is only a temporary solution because the body may become insensitive to them and another inhaler has to be used.
