How to say Goodbye to Kidney Stones: Non-surgically and Painlessly Warning: May contain "gory" images. Viewers' discretion advised!
"Dlop!" My brother etched closer to scrutinise what looked like a little stone. He just passed out a KIDNEY STONE! Before this, he had lower back aches (one of the symptoms of kidney stone/s if bad posture is not the cause).
What's the cause of Kidney Stones?
Most kidney stones (if not caused by genes) are actually made of accumulated deposits of CALCIUM. Kidney stones are formed because one is:
1. taking synthetic vitamins (not real natural vitamins)
2. taking too much of salt or synethetic salt (usually named as "sodium nitrate" in canned meat, etc)
3. over-consuming of milk and cheese
4. taking certain drugs that can promote kidney stones (eg. drugs like Xenical, Lasix and Topomax).
Because the human body has "no idea" how to process synthetic calcium etc, these substances are passed to the kidney to take care of it. "Hey buddy, filter these stuff!" (The role of your 2 kidneys is to filter blood i.e. make blood clean.)
When calcium deposits stay in the kidney long enough, the kidneys act like oysters except we don't produce pearls!
Sometimes a few small ones stay in the kidneys till they are passed out, or they can accumulate to form half the size of a ping-pong ball! The ones below resemble lime seeds! lol

There are actually
4 types of kidney stones - view pictures of them in different shapes and sizes here! lol
Getting Rid of Kidney Stone/s
Conventional methods of removing kidney stones include:
Shock wave lithotripsy (SWL), Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PN)and
Ureteroscopy. Many patients report that they can't urine after a kidney stone surgery. The good news is, surgery may not be necessary unless the kidney stone completely blocks the flow of urine.
[ My brother had his tonsils removed when he had whooping cough. Up to today, he always wake up sneezing every morning, although he seldom catches the common flu due to his regular intake of Omega 3 oils.) My point is, sometimes surgeries are unnecessary. ]
Your doctor may also advise against taking foods high in oxalates (calcium):
beet and turnip greens, pepper, parsley, beets, spinach, dill, nuts, rhubarb, strawberries, star fruit, sweet potatoes, cranberries, wheat bran, tea, cocoa, chocolate, citrus juices and even Vitamin C.
If you find it a "bother" to avoid the above foods, try the following:
- Reduce salt and avoid the foods that result in the kidney stone.
- Drink lots of water (very important).
- Temporarily avoid foods high in soy and sugar.
- Some people report that drinking a mixture of lemon juice, olive oil and /or apple cider vinegar helps to "soften" and break down the stones.
The above to-do not only treat kidney stones but also prevent new ones from forming. (Preventive therapy avoids the terrible pain of kidney stones. It goes without saying that food toxics can make any illness/ailment - including kidney stones - worser.)
Chinese Sinseh (physician) may recommend herbal teas.
