Midterm Swine Flu Report: Boosting Immunity Naturally Part 1

Here's your midterm Swine Flu Report - may far be the least "serious of all Health reports" now that we know many more recover from the much over-rated Swine Flu! I call it 'mid-term' as the world is sorta in the middle of Swine Flu now (or nearing the end of it)! lol

My previous 'prediction'
that it won't be a pandemic (my doubts about WHO's and CDC's statistics) was close to what other blog critics were saying.  Applause for the people who recovered from Swine Flu and now has the immunity against it!

"Though it is reasonable to call a pandemic for an extensive spread of a new strain of killer flu to many parts of the world at once, what is sorely lacking in this alert system is any counting of actual cases or number of deaths before raising the alert level." - Dr. Marc Siegel M.D., author of “False Alarm; the Truth About the Epidemic of Fear and Bird Flu: Everything You Need to Know About the Next Pandemic”

Current Swine Flu News

1. In Singapore, it is now mandatory for all staff, students, people in schools, nurseries, childcare centures and kindergartens, visitors and patients in hospitals and clinics to take their temperature. Use of digital thermometers are encouraged. Due to a "shortage" in thermometers, the cost of these thermometers have been raised by as much as 300%. (For me, I and my family of 4-generations use the digital thermometers we've had for years - but of course we're not sharing our thermometers with one another!)

The funny thing is, these temperature-taking ceremonies in Singapore are conducted in such a way I almost thought that they were funeral processions! I find myself thinking "I, a citizen of Singapore, pledge my life, to take my temperature without fail....". You see, all of them had to stand with thermometers in their mouths...and in silence! Almost everyone was looking at their shoes or the floor!

Of course, you can't really smile or talk without having the thermometer fall out of your mouth except when you try to grip it with your molar teeth!

Singapore's health authorities acknowledges that although there is an increasing number of people catching Swine Flu, it is not difficult to "beat it" as many more have recovered  as opposed to those who passed away.

In USA alone, only 2 have died.  It seems that Mexico was worst-hit - those who lost the battle against Swine Flu had other complications or ailments before catching the Swine Flu.

2. There were speculations over why the USA government allowed the borders of Mexico to remain open despite the 'furious spread' of Swine Flu:

  • So that Mexico gets the blame and not USA
  • So that more people will actually get infected with the Swine Flu

The 7-day retreat (quarantine) for those coming to Singapore from Mexico (regardless of whether traveller is Mexican or not) Singapore has decided to contain all visitors in a resort (free of charge of course) for 7 days before allowing them further into the country. The Mexican government has protested to which the Singapore government has ignored.  (Actually I think it isn't such a bad idea that people coming from Mexico have this '7-day retreat'! What do you think??)

3. Two nuns in Korea, aged 51 and 44, are now down with the Swine Flu. As they do not eat meat and don't eff around, how they got the Swine Flu is highly suspect. Did these 2 nuns come into contact with someone who intentionally wanted to spread the Swine Flu? Who were they seeing before the 51-year-old nun caught it? These people know the answers! Honourable Nuns, you are free to let me know! I am very commentable comtactable in Bloggersbase! And the world wants to know! (At least the nosey-parker me wants to!) [ 2 other Korean boys infected with Swine Flu in the USA ]

4. Swine Flunow (this may not be news!) has a more fanciful and "scientific name" called Influenza A or H1N1 flu. It's a consolation it was not named StoopiFlu or RumsfieldFlu.

5. Amidst the "gloom", Mexicans found entertainment in decorating their N95 masks while the famous picture of the girl kissing a pig gets circulated on the internet and in blogs! I have not found anyone making money on giving Mask-decorating lessons on Youtube.

6. Mexican shop-owners are feeling depressed as they are forced to close their shops (with the exception of those who provide food and drinks.)

7. Mexican shop-owners are not the only depressed and angry ones. Pig-farmers the world over are blaming authorities for not naming the Flu "Influenza A" from the start. The drop in pork prices does not seem to help much. (May be this may set off an increase in "I LOVE MY PIGS" videos!)

8. In Egypt, 250,000 pigs have been killed last Monday on May 4th 2009.  :(

9. "A pandemic will last much longer than most public health emergencies and may include "waves" of influenza activity separated by months." Yeah, right. As long as some people want the flu virus around, what will be next?  Dog Flu?  Bear Flu?? Seriously, those who've intentionally placed their flu bugs in our society should be hunted down.

10. I had some good geographic lessons from GarryLouie!  Before this, I had no idea New Mexico is NOT Mexico. lol  Mexico is not part of the USA.

11. Swine Flu made me realise how dumb I was! I had no idea pigs had no sweat glands!! And you wonder why they teach "Sweat like a pig"!!  Reason why they roll in mud (they prefer clean water) is to keep their temperatures down (I knew about thise - just not the sweating part!)  [ Animal Cruelty ]

12. And of course, in light of all the Swine Flu News, it's become a party as can be seen in bloggers using pictures of pigs in more ways than one!

13. Here are some interesting Swine Flu remarks in and around the Internet:

"Did WHO get the foot-in-mouth disease?"

"It is not Swine Flu! It really was FSF! Fear of Swine Flu disease!"

"Of course hospitals have no wish you self-medicate your Swine Flu, they want you toWAIT and later pay for the Tamiflu vaccine!" (More info below!)

@Obox (Twitter) said,"90 people get the Swine Flu & everybody wants to wear mask. 33 million people have AIDS & no one wants to wear condoms!" Neon condoms and condoms with flavours did not seem to work, did it? Conclusion: people prefer masks to condoms.

14. Quoted somewhere: The Swine Flu is not contagious after 3 or 4 days (and not as long as 7 days as previously THOUGHT)! One website even said,"The incubation period of the Swine Flu is so short, you get it today and you can die tomorrow."

For some people, it is convenient to "shorten" Swine Flu's contagious period, seeing that the Swine Flu is NOT killing "more people than it should".
[Again, you need to look at the people who MOST want YOU to take the Tamiflu vaccine; Donald Rumsfield has so far raked in more than $8 million the last Bird Flu season. It is rumoured that WHO is working closely with him.]

15. Perhaps the most absurd news of all is this!!  Mike Adams of NaturalNews (@HealthRanger) reported,"Yes, it's true: Top trade groups in the natural products industry - the Natural Products Association (NPA), Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) and the American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) - coordinated an announcement with the FDA to tell consumers to stop buying and using anti-viral herbs and supplements and, instead, rely solely on government-approved Tamiflu. They might as well just tell people to go home and die.... That's because according to health authorities in the U.S., there is no such thing as any dietary supplement that treats any disease whatsoever.

Technically speaking, there is zero credible scientific evidence that Tamiflu works to treat swine flu infections, either. Where are the studies? The scientific papers? There are none, precisely because swine flu is too new to have been carefully studied by anyone.

Much to the annoyance of some critics, NaturalNews has been publicly questioning the "official" statistics reporting infections and deaths from H1N1 influenza. In stories published this week, we noted that the CDC's official numbers are suspiciously low -- the agency claimed only 7 deaths from H1N1 even while Mexico had officially announced 161 deaths.... It turns out that CDC labs are inadequate testing facilities that are utterly overwhelmed with too many influenza samples to test.

The CDC doesn't count any death unless its own lab confirms the infection.  But its own lab can only test 100 flu samples a day, we've learned!"

I fully agree with Mike - the last time people were vaccinated against Swine Flu, one by one dropped dead!   Back in 1976, people were developing Guillain-Barré syndrome which is aparalyzing nerve disease - right after getting the Swine Flu vaccination. Within two months, 500 people fell sick (heart attacks amongst other things). More than 30 died. Amid a rising uproar and growing public reluctance to risk the Swine Flu shot, federal officials abruptly canceled the vaccination programme on Dec. 16 1976. - Wired.com and CapitalCenture.com

Dr. Scott (@DrSpines) tells you Why the Foundation of Vaccine Theory is fatally flawed!

If we are to believe what these top trade groups in natural products industry say, does it mean we are better off being tied to their bed-posts so we do not get natural Vitamin D or natural herbs?? It's absurd!

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) makes blanket recommendations based off the research conducted by flu vaccine manufacturers.... The Flu shots do not promise protection for the immunocompromised, and are the BEST case scenario. - Dr. Nicole Sundene (@DocNicole)

Even Mediacorp (Singapore's only broadcasting station) reported news of natural Chinese herbs that can help to boost our body's immunity against viral infections.  Call me old-fashioned, but how can we ignore the goodness of these traditional whole foods and herbs? (I am very glad that prescription drug companies do not have the liberty to rampantly use TV commercials in Singapore.)

"Almighty God have us these herbs (Gen 1:29) so get use to it." - Dr. Betty Martini, Mission Possible International

Of course, Swine Flu scams abound! If you doubt if something is useful or effective, do not commit. It may also be good to blog about it so you can get others' views and opinions.

Health Advise Sounded like Instructions for Kindergarten Pre-schoolers:

  • Always wash your hands before and after touching your food (or face) and after a lavatory visit (This is actually very good advise! Viruses are known to survive on non-porous surfaces such as steel and plastic, for up to 48 hours.)
  • Cover your mouth with a piece of tissue paper whenever you sneeze or cough. (Nothing mentioned on Singapore government sites about the right way of disposing these tissue-paper which many people again think is "advise for kids" - ie. should be wrapped up with another clean tissue before throwing it into a Recycling dustbin.)
  • Do not dig your nose with any of my fingers especially the middle one! (Okie I made the last part up!) Tissue papers are not just for sad movies!

What the government sites do not emphasise: that the advise/recommendations they give does not apply to JUST THIS SEASON, it should apply everyday for the rest of your life, like a marriage vow! (No no, I really mean this seriously but as you can see I am able to joke at almost everything.)
