In Singapore, the H95 masks are over-rated. Because it does not boost your immunity towards viral infections.

The Advise You Don't See on Sites like CDC or WHO:
1. Sun yourself by having a 5 to 10-minute walk in the park (in the day of course). Even on a cloudy day some sun will help your body manufacture its own Vitamin D, which is crucial in helping your body assimiliate calcium and magnesium (they're a team!)
For those who remain indoors a lot may lack Vitamin D. BabyDdrops may be the answer to alternate vitamin D (I will be covering more on this - the advantages and 'disadvantages' of using BabyDdrops - in another blog entry!)
2. Continue having a healthy supply of Omega-3 oils which promotes cardiovascular (heart) & joint health. The best source for Omega-3 oils are from shrimp-like crustaceans from the Antarctic - like the Krill. Krill oil contains phospholipids (good for the heart) and antioxidants such as the carotenoid astaxanthin. (If anyone knows of good Omega-3 oil not encapsulated in gelatin, please let me know. Some people avoid gelatin capsules due to religious reasons. Others avoid it because they feel gelatin may contain MSG and aspartame.)
3. If you have to choose Salmon for your supply for Omega-3 oils (some people are allergic to shrimps), choose supplements (or fish) from the younger smaller fish which are less likely to have toxic mercury content (from industrial waste dumped in water). And choose only fish that are not farm-raised because farm-raised fish eat genetically-modified corn like the corporate-run farmed cows! Choose only Omega-3 supplements made with free-ranging fish/salmon! The younger the fish, the less likely for mercury contamination.
5. Continue getting a healthy supply of whole fruits and vegetables (fibre). Vitamin C is a free-radical killer.
6. Drink lots of water, preferably carbon-filtered water to remove chemical traces not removed by normal filter.
7. If you have to run water through your nose while you are in the shower, use water that's been dissolved in salt. Salt is a natural germ-killer. Just make sure you don't choke on the water!
8. Soak both hands in warm water for a minute or two. This can be a weekly "ritual" if you wish! A simple method can help you avoid or prevent common flu and perhaps the Swine Flu Influenza A.
9. Add the Anise herb to your soups and stews. (Do you know Anise is the MAIN ingredient in Tamiflu vaccines?) This may explain the reason why India has no cases of Swine Flu infection.
Different Types of Anise Products
1. Anise in its original "star" pods (recommended).
2. Anise without its pods look like small oval and flat grains (recommended).
3. And ground Anise powder looks a little like curry powder. 4 oz of this costs US$2.75.
4. Anise Seed Essential Oil for bath - natural therapy by breathing! (Recommended!)
5. Anise Seeds by Wholesale prices (Recommended!)
Here's a recipe Biscuits with Anise Seeds (although I highly recommend you do NOT microwave the anise seeds.)
I cannot recommend Anise extract or Anise powder at this time because before one can do so, one needs to look at EVERY ingredient that has gone into the manufacture, and its storing and preparation processes. For example, it is very easy to add ground ginger powder to ground Anise powder, and IF ginger is not safe, the while food/Anise powder is questionable. Poor storage of food products can also diminish nutritional value of foods and herbs. If at all possible, try to get WHOLE (unground) and organically-grown foods. (Organic foods should be drug-free, hormones-free, aspartame-free, pesticide-free, mercury-free, yeast-free, toxic-free, etc. )
Please also note that a recommendation of a food/product on a website does not mean that other food/products on that site are safe. Many organic shops still stock unsafe foods, due to a lack of awareness for a particular food (for example Soy Milk may be more of harm regardless of whether it's organic or not, due to its unfermented nature). It takes just ONE unsafe substance or an inorganic ingredient (eg. preservatives, emulsifiers) to ruin an otherwise safe and organic food/product. [ Why Tofu wrecks your brain ]
DON'T WANT to get Anise? GROW YOUR OWN GARDEN!
It may be one of your life's best choices before Agricultural Biggies take over the world with dangerous GMO (genetically-modified organisms or foods).
On other websites
HerbsPro does not stock on whole Anise seeds but has an extract of the Anise seeds.
MySpiceSage Whole Anise Seeds are recommended.
Dr. Mercola advises consumption of garlic, enough rest and avoidance of hospitals to boost your immunity naturally. (I'll blog on this at a later date - why hospitals should be avoided.) More here
How to choose your Organic Immunity-Booster
As mentioned in Part One, the Natural Products Association (NPA), Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) and the American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) are not organizations Organic Food shoppers should look up to. So which organisations can we trust when we shop for organic food? Organic food/products shoppers should try to go for products that have one or more of these certifications:
* Hazards and Critical Control Points (HACCP^) -- International food safety certification that World Health Organization (WHO) standards are met
* Safe Quality Food (SQF^) -- HACCP-based food safety and risk management system covering the identification of food safety, quality risks, and the validation and monitoring of control measures (certified by SGS India Pvt. Lmt.)
* Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) -- International certification verifies all required practices necessary for an effective food safety program are followed
* International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2000 -- International standard for quality, safety, ecology, economy, reliability, compatibility, inter-operability, efficiency, and effectiveness. This makes all shipments of organic produce and documents traceable.
* Orthodox Union (OU) Kosher -- Certifies compliance for Kosher observers and followers
* International organic certifications such as: USDA, EU, and NSOP (India) , Skal International, Ecocert International
^ I will post an update if I feel the status for organization changes, because WHO does not operate the way it used.
For me, I can't help but continue to suspect the efficacy of the Tamiflu or any other related prescription drugs for Flu [Oseltamivir (oral Swine Flu medicine) and Zanamivir (aka Relenza, an nasal spray)] - due to other additives in it. All natural Anise, sunshine and many other natural resources win hands down (with the blessings of Mother Nature) in helping us+ fight against infections.
It is not not difficult to understand that what you put in your mouth (and stomach) can have a direct effect to how well your body fight infections and diseases. The right kinds of food is like your army of soldiers fighting against Cancerous cells everyday.
