BloggersBase Suggestions Blog

Why are the Links nofollow?

I was writing a post and as usual, switched the html editor after finishing.
That's when I saw a link I just made had been added with a rel="nofollow"

... In my opinion, "nofollow" is not a good way to promote a good blogging community.
If I were to link to a post, that would mean that I think the post has good enough relevant content that I would want the readers to read further about. As a practice, nofollow is usually attributed to links that you deem less important. As such, powerful search engines like google will not read it.

By making all links obligatorily "nofollow", it's clear that Bloggersbase does not care to give other blogs or sites the respect it deserves. If a site were to have significantly influenced my content or if it were to provide good relevant further reading, it just seems ethically right that you give it a little more credit in terms of search engines.

BloggersBase Stuff

I seem to have trouble getting trackbacks from BloggersBase to work. None of the sites I have put for trackbacks are seeing them...

Also, what's with the whole nuggets and goldmine business? I had to dig around the BloggersBase site to find a really convoluted and vague description of what they seem to be. Further, the explanation does not really help all that much without having to sit through a confusing set of questions and answers. Basically, with my low online attention span, all I found out was, a nugget is used in a goldmine, and somehow that lets you become a co-author, which really means nothing... WHAT???

BloggersBase has not really done anything for me yet. It does not help me generate additional traffic on my main blog, and I don't get traffic here... This really just seem to be a dump site for a duplicate of my main blog.

Oh well, I'll stick around and see what happens.

Also forgot to mention, posting stuff here is also an unnecessarily painstaking ordeal.

Blogging to make a difference

There are so many things which we experience everyday, that I feel one day could fill the pages of a book. However, whatever we do in our daily life is not always very exciting like a movie, which has all its exciting, tense and fun filled moments. We all do not have lives like movie stars, nor do we live like superheroes or adventurers like Indiana Jones.

The great writers of the past and the writers of today, create worlds where every person can live a truly fantastic life. They give life to all our dreams and make life more interesting for every individual who takes the time to read a good novel. I feel that blogging is similar to novel writing or short story writing. In every blog post the writer tries to write about a simple fact, with an interesting twist to make it worth reading to the blog reader.

I surrender!!

Oh, come on BB!  First it's ok to post a video that someone else filmed and created or copy and paste other people's work and get credit for it being humorous (which it usually isn't).  Now?  Recipes?????  Are you kidding me?  I had to go back to nugget stage after taking a week off for personal reasons and now I'm competing against food?  Give me a freakin' break!!!!!  Are you trying to drive away those of us who pour words out of our own hearts and minds?  I know I'm not the best blogger on here, but my posts are my own.  When I borrow words from someone else, I give them credit plus they are combined with a whole slew of words that I wrote.  I have attached a few recipes to my blogs but only at the bottom in my "Sexy Meal Plan tip."  And posting 10, 20, 30 posts in one day?  Seriously????  I didn't join BB to win money, I didn't even realize how the whole competition worked for several weeks, actually, I still don't completely understand it.  I just wanted exposure for my blog because I started it to reach out to people.  This site is slowly becoming a joke.  Sometimes I don't even bother to remind my family and friends to log on and vote for me.  I'll continue to blog on here only because I know others are reading it and maybe I can help someone who is going through some of the same things I'm going through in life.  I am over trying to understand the whole voting and nugget system and how some people can be considered top bloggers when nothing they've written was of their own creativity....which I know is just my worthless opinion.

New BloggersBase Rules Proposition 101

Dear BloggersBase

I think you have a really good thing going.  I have been fortunate enough to have a strong following, but read a lot of tension growing lately.  It is one thing to invite friend to read your blog and rate what they think, but bloggers who are not promoting their blogs properly or using the tools that BB provides seem to be voting people down like crazy.  Now I am only a music producer but I am also very good with websites, tracking, coding, and moderating.  If you need any assistance  just let me know.

Here is what I think should be done.

1.  I feel for one that publishers including myself should not be allowed to vote in their own category.  If they write in three categories then that is the path they choose.

2.  Maybe going a little further and having readers and bloggers separate.  Only readers can vote.

HELLO EVERYONE, A NAME CHANGE.

Hi. I changed the name of my blog as you can see. Soupalaxy is my new name. It turns out that there is another Soupbox out there in the vast world. Even though they are something completely different I don't want to take their name. So I have changed it. The name is all that has changed. I will continue to post my best stories on bloggersbase. I hope that this change doesn't affect my relationship with the Bloggersbase community. Thank you for your understanding. So here's to new beginnings.
