Super Mario Mushroom Wrist Warmers

super mario wrist warmer
Fall is finally here and if you're anything like me the change to Autumn means one thing and one thing only: cold wrists. There's no geekier way to warm up those cold radiocarpal joints than with Super Mario Mushroom Wrist Warmers. If you're looking for full body gamer gear, you can't leave your wrists out or you will look like an incomplete fool. There's a pattern on the maker's site if you're crafty enough to be able to stitch a pair of these yourself.

Life Sized Super Mario Piranha Plant

life size super mario plant
If you've ever played Super Mario Bros. (and that "if" is probably completely unnecessary, I mean is there actually anyone out there reading this blog who hasn't played it?) then you're quite familiar with the giant piranha plants that attempt to get our hero plumber throughout the game.

Deviant Art user Kalapusa has made his own giant sized version of the killer plants out of acrylics, clay, and a wire skeleton to keep it stiff. The inside of the mouth is really freaky looking:

Well we wouldn't be doing our duty to the highfalutin world of fashion if we didn't tell you about the hottest new geek trend in fingernails- geek chic.

Super Mario World Question Mark Ottoman

super mario-ottoman
We've covered all sorts of furniture here before from chairs to couches to beds but I don't believe we've ever covered the ever useful ottoman. Well that makes this Super Mario World Question Mark Ottoman officially the geekiest ottoman ever. "This ottoman is a 15x15x15 cube with a rigid foam core and a Memory Foam top surface for comfort and temperature sensitivity." Makes we want to hang it from the ceiling and jump up into the bottom of it to see if there's a giant foam coin inside.

Gadgets Roundup: Would’ve Posted These This Week if Not for Beer

TechnologyGadgets & Mobile

Every week at the Craziest Gadgets home office here in Gadgetville, USA, we find cool new gadgets to write about and every week we go out and drink beer instead of actually writing about them. We call this feature: Gadgets Roundup. Why? Because we couldn't think of a better name (because we're drunk). If you have a better name, leave a comment, maybe we'll use it. Here's what you would have seen if we weren't on the sauce:

Napster Gadgets Roundup: Wouldve Posted These This Week if Not for Beer drops their prices to $5 for 5 DRM-free MP3 downloads plus unlimited streaming from their library of 7 million songs. If you were going to buy 5 songs a month anyway, it's like getting free streaming service. Not a bad deal really.

Musical condoms shaped like animals that glow in the dark? ‘Nuf said. (Gizmodo)

A stuffed animal monkey that you can draw glow in the dark designs on his stomach and ears with a special UV pen. Kids, today's lesson is graffiti. Can you spell graffiti? (nerd approved)

Working flamethrower made from LEGO Technics sounds like an ideal father/son project for this weekend. (Techeblog)

Incredible video of a crazy guy on a Segway with a Steadicam as he jumps off the Segway onto the stage and circles the performer seamlessly. (BB Gadgets)

Riding the coattails of the Snuggie (or blankettails if you will) is The Wearable Towel- a towel with two arm holes in it so you can wear it- tunic style or toga style. I wish I was making this up, but this is an actual product. (crunchgear)

super mario mushroom pillows 500x375 Super Mario Mushroom Pillows
I really really like the design of these Super Mario Mushroom Pillows. Typically I can't see myself decorating my home with any of the super geeky video game type household items I feature here at Craziest Gadgets (maybe if I had a den or a mancave or basement or something that I could trick out, I would definitely geekstyle it up though), but these I could see sitting on the couch with the rest of my pillows. They're, dare I say it, sort of classy. Classy as far as mushroom pillows go I suppose. These 18″ square fleece pillows will run you $70 for the set of 4, which isn't too bad for pillows (why are pillows always so expensive? what's the deal with that?).

super mario chess set Super Mario Chess Collectors Edition
It's hard to believe but apparently this is the first officially Nintendo licensed chess set of any kind. This Super Mario Chess Collector's Edition features Mario and his cast of friends and enemies. One the red side is Mario and the good guys, taking on Bowser and the bad dudes. Luigi is the Queen!!!! I always suspected he played for the other team.

Here's the full lineup: Mario (king), Luigi (queen), Princess Peach (bishop), Princess Daisy (bishop), Yoshi (knight), Toad (rook), Coin (pawn), Bowser (king), Bowser Jr. (queen), Magikoopa (bishop), Birdo (knight), Goomba (rook), and Koopa Shell (pawn). Overall it's a pretty cool set for $39.99.
