USA – Corporations Can Influence the Elections, Candidates – Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission
Reality Views by sm -
The judgment given by the supreme court of USA opens gates for the corporations to spend unlimited money and influence elections, and thereafter get benefits, discounts and creation of laws which are favorable to the corporations.

We as Indians know what money is doing in India, Indian elections and our Indian corporations.
In future same will happen in America as Supreme Court removed all restrictions,
Before this judgment in America there was a kind of firewall which prohibited direct contact of corporations with elections.

Citizens United v. FEC: Freedom of Speech v. Unfair Influence

The Supreme Court last week struck down some 70 years of legal precedent concerning the ability of corporations to spend their discretionary money in support of a political candidate within a certain time frame of an election. Many liberals are beside themselves with concern over this decision saying that, to paraphrase Senator Chuck Schumer, the winners of the upcoming election will not be Democrats and will not be Republicans but will be corporations.

I read enough of Justice Anthony Kennedy's majority opinion to believe that the opposition to this opinion is much ado about nothing and in fact represents an odd inconsistency with liberal belief. The opinion comes down on the side of freedom of speech (the First Amendment), which we liberals hold almost more dear than anything else in our platform.

But first, we need a reality check. Before this opinion was issued by the Court, Congress was already bought and sold by lobbyists and big business. Who are we fooling here? On one level the Court's decision simply makes the law reflect reality.

Double Good News for American Freedom

This has been one of those rare weeks when two noteworthy and favorable political events happened.

I. Scott Brown (R) defeats Martha Coakley (D) in U. S. Senate race in Massachusetts

This defeat ought to at least force the Democrats to consider the fact that people are mostly opposed to their “health-care reform” plans, and are willing to vote accordingly. Democrats want us to believe this election was not a “referendum on Obama,” but it clearly was. It appears the Democrats’ 60-vote super majority is gone, and if they try to ram some form of the health-care legislation through without another Senate vote, they’ll look desperate and dishonest, and lose even more esteem among the public.

High Court of Justice Highway Decision And Intellectual Dishonesty

Dr. Aaron Lerner                   Date: 31 December 2009

“We told the IDF to come up with effective security arrangements”.

That’s the excuse that the High Court of Justice justices will tell
themselves when Palestinian terrorists exploit their ruling to restore
access to Highway 443.

But it will just be that.

An excuse.

The narrative of the Israeli Leftists celebrating the reopening of Highway
443 to common Palestinian use is that Israel cynically justified their
exercise of the right of eminent domain to build the road by noting that

The title should read “An inmate sentenced to death dies”. End of story right; but as usual nothing is that simple when it comes to the death penalty, the liberal media and Texas.

The truth is that nothing would have changed even if the appeal had been heard. The supreme court case upon which the appeal was predicated was decided in favor of the state. Sorry. All this judge did was save the tax payers of Texas a few additional dollars; they will no longer have to support this raping murderer.

This Michael Richard was sentenced for a crime committed in 1986. I think 21 years of eating, breathing and sleeping at tax payer’s expense is a little extreme. The real issue in this story is that there are inmates sitting on death row for decades. The real travesty is that it takes so damn long to pull the plug on those who have been convicted.

Enjoy the read; this is the article from MSN and the Disassociated Press:

India- Right to Education bill

The law which should have been passed immediate after the Indian independence
Was passed in the year 2009. Article 45 of the Constitution “seeks to provide free and compulsory education for all children up to the age of 14” under the directive principals.
16 years back the Supreme Court ruled that elementary education should be made a fundamental right
It’s good that this failure is corrected now by the government of Man Mohan Singh.
The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Bill, 2009, was passed in the Rajya Sabha on July 20 .The lower house passed the bill by a voice vote.

Few important provisions of this bill are as follows.

1. 25% reservation in private schools for disadvantaged children from the neighborhood, at the entry level. The government will reimburse expenditure incurred by schools.

Well, they keep saying it but when I find more concrete evidence, it’s still hard to believe.  I understand that not everyone in the US voted for Barack Obama.  I understand that the goal of the opposition party is to oppose everything the current White House does.  Moreover, I understand that the mouthpiece of the GOP is FOX News and yet when I read this, I almost fell off my seat laughing.  This is currently a headline on FOX news, which can, once again, safety put its slogan ‘fair and balanced’ to rest and they have proven they are neither.  (http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2009/08/07/ken-klukowski-sotomayor-obama/)

“Sotomayor's Confirmation Isn't a Win for the White House” – really?  It’s not?  And here I thought that when a president nominates someone for the Supreme Court and they are confirmed by the Senate, it’s typically viewed as a good thing for the president that did the nominating.  Of course if your entire raison d’être is to turn everything the president and his party does into a bad thing, you will find a way to make this a win for your side.

President Clinton gets two American journalists released from prison, you say it’s bad for America.  The government sponsors a program that people like (‘cash for clunkers’) and you say it’s bad for consumers.
