As heavily the country is populated with variety of religion,culture and festivals so are the wonderful  spots to view,enjoy and hang around.

Apart from the wonderful natural scenaries, forts and other landmarks in this post i would like to describe about some of the best Ayureda Spa Resorts.

The after effects and side effects of conventional therapies and medicine sometimes give us real creeps. The village of Kumarakom is a cluster of little islands on the Vembanad Lake in Kerala, a state in India. Shalimar is a testament to love. No, we're not being soppy. The secluded mountain bungalows which make up this ‘Spice Garden Resort’ were designed by a couple, Maria Angela, an Italian, and her Indian partner, Shaji. Shalimar is a combination of their names, and of their talents. When they first came here in 1996, it was nothing but an overgrown hillside, set 2500 feet above sea level.

Now you walk across a wooden suspension bridge into 5 acres of cool, landscaped gardens, containing palm and mango groves, nutmeg and cardamom trees, a swimming pool, Ayurvedic centre, and 15 thatched cottages and rooms hidden in the woods. Each is built in Malayalam style, with wooden beams and wide verandas, and simply decorated in clean white lines which wouldn't look out of place in a Western interiors magazine.

Apart from being a lovely place to rest, you can also spot elephants and other wildlife in the nearby Periyar Wildlife Reserve.

Accommodation

At Shalimar Spice Garden, accommodation is available in the form of rooms and in stand-alone cottages, which are situated around 5 – 8 metres apart from each other. All rooms and cottages are constructed by traditional materials of Kerala. Tiled roofing provides more authentic traditional Kerala appearance and insulation to the rooms and cottages. The rooms and cottages seem to blend completely with the natural environment surrounded by tea, pepper, coffee and cardamom plantations.
