Island of Islands - Part 1

Apart from the stunning natural beauties the place is well developed with lots of accommodations and health resorts that will simply take away our breath and would love to spend time there during every vacation!!!!

Saying much about Australia is irrelevant as the popular place is already known by everybody and its beauty is simple awesome. So I would directly go the description of the islands of the country.

The country comprises 8222 islands describing each is really difficult so here I am describing some 15 of its best and top visited islands. First 5 are described in this post  and rest will be followed in my forthcoming posts.

Bedarra Island

Island is place that chills our eyes, relaxes our soul and makes us feel as heaven. The shiny glowing blue waves inviting us to embrace and immerse one self in its arms stretched wide open throughout the year. What else we would need to spend our vacation and if we are gifted with a lovely companion then that’s it…. It would be a perfect romantic cum memorable travel…..

Covering 100 Hectares, Bedarra island is a part of the Family Group of Islands, located off the tropical North Queensland coast, midway between Townsville and Cairns and neighbouring Dunk Island. Bedarra is an amazing place where time is measured only by the passage of the sun.

The reality of this stunning reef fringed island is even more enchanting than the fantasy. You can explore and discover the charm and the many attractions Bedarra Island has to offer. Everywhere you look is a postcard view of tropical paradise. The island is accessible only by private launch from Dunk Island and its exclusivity means that you can do as you wish, when you wish.As a romantic hideaway, you set your own pace. Hillside Villa

Hillside Villas are situated in elevated locations close to the beachfront and are set just behind the central resort facilities and restaurant. Set into the lush tropical rainforest each Villa offers filtered inhibited water views.

Fraser Island

Fraser Island stretches over 123 kilometres in length and 22 kilometres at its widest point. With an area of 184 000 hectares it is the largest sand island in the world.

Bordered by 25 miles of pristine beaches, Hervey Bay is one of Queensland's best holiday destinations offering convenient access to World Heritage Listed Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world and Lady Elliot Island, the first coral cay on the Southern Great Barrier Reef. Hervey Bay is Australia's hub for whale watching. The vast calm water is sprinkled with a few smaller islands at the southern end and bordered to the east by Fraser Island.

 A wide choice of accommodation lines the esplanade from caravan parks to motels, resorts and holiday apartments. Hervey Bay has several attractions including marine displays, animal displays and animal sanctuaries or explore Great Sandy Straits Marina complex with its shopping gallery and cafés. Great Keppel Island

Located slightly north of the Tropic of Capricorn and ringed by 28 kilometres of beaches and bays, Great Keppel Island enjoys an ideal sub-tropical climate. Being far enough north to capture the sun, it enjoys mild winters while being far enough south to avoid the tropical monsoons.

he island is almost 1500 hectares and is a sanctuary to extensive native flora and fauna including more than 100 species of bird life including kookaburras, rainbow lorikeets and a diverse range of seabirds. Captain Cook was the first recorded European to sight the island, anchoring off the mainland in May, 1770 and naming the group of 14 islands, of which Great Keppel is the largest, after Rear Admiral Keppel of the Royal Navy.



Great Keppel Island, is just a thirty-minute ferry ride from the mainland and regular ferry services depart from Keppel Bay Marina, providing easy access for day trips or overnight visits.The island boasts seventeen white sand beaches - inviting swimming, snorkeling and diving. Bushwalk the island's interior where native flora, fauna and a rich Aboriginal heritage are waiting for you to discover. Go kayaking, coral viewing and enjoy the variety of water sports that are available. 

The waters around the island are safe and there is 18 km of beach with coral around the headlands. The island's crystal clear tropical waters are teaming with brilliantly coloured fish, other marine life and corals. The best snorkelling spots are Shelving Beach, Monkey Point and Clam Bay, all within easy walking distance.
